I knew that Ed and Dennis couldn't get along for too long...I really liked tonight's episode...it was good to see Kelly Ripa back, even if it is only briefly. Shirley was as good as always...and next week is going to be the one to watch.

They've dragged this love triangle thing between Ed and whatshername on for too long. Thank God it will be over next week, one way or another.
God, this show makes me long for a good quirky one-hour drama... like Northern Exposure!!
Edited to add: BTW, I didn't even bother to watch tonite's episode since I knew it was going to be a re-hash of Ed pining away for his dear sweet Carol.

Good episode tonight. The new hard-working Phil was hilarious, but I was very happy when Ed turned the real Phil loose with the bachelor party.
One thing does surprise me. I always think that I can't hate Dennis any more than I do, and every week he makes that very thing possible.
Funniest visual: Watching the 380 pound Molly try to tiptoe across Carol's lawn.
Honk!

Anyone still watching Ed?
Ed gets "dared" to be Dennis's best man after Carol chickened out of telling Ed that he's not invited to their wedding. Ed knows it's a "sarcastic" best man invite, but charges ahead with the best man duties designed to make Dennis not have a good time at his batchelor party held at the StuckeyBowl alleys. Surprisingly enough, Dennis does have a good time. But once Carol is in their vicinity, Ed and Dennis's rift widens.
Ed also handles a case by Jennifer (Kelly Ripa), the wacky woman with the To-Do lists from last season. That subplot was just okay.
Next week:
because it's drained a lot of the fun out of this season.

while i agree with everyone that the whole wedding thing has taken away from the season, i really did like last night's show. when dennis asked ed to be his best man, the first thing that popped into my head was that ed would be standing behind dennis at the wedding staring at carol the whole time and she wouldn't be able to go through with it. now after seeing ed on a horse, i am not sure, but i know that it should be interesting.

Interesting episode though i will do a happy dance when the whole Ed/Carol/Dennis storyline is gone. I do have one question about next week:

Yeah, last night's episode was pretty good compared to other episodes this season... the Ed-Dennis-Carol relationship was actually interesting again. And Molly almost had her own storyline! Almost... it was still Carol-dependent, though.
"Where are you going, Phil?"
"To rent Caligula."
Jennifer (Kelly Ripa) is completely nuts, but oh so hot.
Next week's episode looks gooooooood.

Well, they did a good Phil storyline.
It was kinda a silly Ripa storyline given that she had maybe 5 minutes of screen time.
When will they get this show on track and get Cheswick back weekly?
I'm also tired of the whole Dennis/Ed storyline. Dennis so unbelievably a bad guy that I can't believe Carol sees anything attractive in him. I'm ready to see him go...yesterday.

It was great to have Jennifer back, and not so kooky this time. You don't suppose they'll have Dennis and Carol really marry and get Ed and Jennifer together? Of course, that means that every week we'd get a "Ripa good" commercial.
And to all you Ed fans on this board -- why don't you give yourselves a round of applause for watching!!

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I can't stand Kelly Ripa. I don't think she's very attractive, and I don't think she's much of an actress. Considering some of Ed's past babes, she's a huge step down for him.
