British TV series about Vampires???

Does anyone remember the name of that British TV mini-series about modern day vampires? It came out on DVD about a year or so ago? Crtics said it was simlar to The X-Files.

Moving this to TV Talk where you're more likely to get an answer to your question . . .

Good show and DVD but it plays out kind of like it wasn't really finished. I think the show was cancelled.......

It was UltraViolet.

We've got kind of a Fan club about this DVD series here at work.

It is so good but was left unresolved at the end.

A voice of dissent here--I thought it had a good ending and seemed finished.

They did throw an ending together but due to the cancellation I don't think it was exactly what they wanted.....

Ultraviolet is an excellent show.

It's not really resolved at the end, but it doesn't just get cut off either.

I thought it was a great series (picked up the dvd). I think they "settled" the series but definitely had enough holes left that another season wouldn't have been pushing the envelope.

The main character is also on Coupling and it was a little strange to see him in such a different role at first.

Yeah, I experienced similar distraction when I was watching Idris Elba on The Wire -- from British secret vampire hunter guy to Baltimore drug dealer, from British accent to East Baltimore.

It wasn't cancelled per-se. There's a fairly long interview with the writer/director on it, and he had already moved onto something else by the time they asked him to do some more episodes.

He said he originally planed for it to be 6 episodes and didn't feel he could go anywhere else with it.

Thanks everyone for the info. I'll have to pick Ultraviolet up then.
