Question for the fan of King of the Hill
Why are you fan of the series? What is so good about it? What attract you to come back and watch for another one?
Please shade some light into my disbelief of another season of this, IMHO, crappy series for me.
Thanks

i wasnt a fan till i watched it a bunch and it grew on me. its a cartoon but it doesnt use any animated gimics, its treated very much like a sitcom. it deals with very realistic scenarios that most shows dont even touch on, but it does and makes em funny...like when hank was constipated and was embarrased when his friends found out.
its not the greatest show on tv, but its better than anything else on during its timeslot. i'd easily trade it for more family guy or undeclared

To me, this episode really defines what is great about King of
the Hill.
Won't You Pimai Neighbor
Unlike the Simpsons of late, it's still a plot driven show in that it tells a story in three acts rather than going off on a tangent.
Other standout episodes include the one with the low-flow toilets(which I actually had the displeasure of owning briefly), Bobby learning self-defense, Boomhauer getting dumped.

Its not a typical cartoon.
Its continuing story. Buckley is dead and he wont be coming back. Bobby broke up with his girlfriend, Joseph hit puberty and didnt magically return to "pre-pubescense" at the end of the episode.
I kinda get tired of shows that have problems that are solved in a mere 22 minutes.

Another problem solved by LOGIC.

And why did you reply, you're not a fan?!

At any rate, care to share your love for the show for me?

My beef with the show has always been the Bobby and Luanne's voices. Talk about nails on a chalkboard! Every now and then I'll watch it and find an episode I like, but I can't watch it every week because when it's not good it's dull.
Funny thing is, the woman who does Bobby's voice was a guest on Loveline (radio talk show) last week and she is hilarious! I wish she would write for the show. She was a kook, but probably mostly because she's pregnant.

It isn't as good as it used to be, but I still watch and it is better than a lot of the crap now...
This animated series can basically come from the biography of most conservative southern families.
Hank Hill is an everyday conservative southern. The way he treats the liberal minded on the show, for example is hilarious.
He hates the way his wife does things (she also has these huge feet
just thinking about it); he hates when his son does something he thinks he shouldn't do (Bobby does a lot of "girly" things and Hank hates that -he reprimands him by doing "guy" things) and he is happy now that Luanne is not living in his den, now. He hangs out in the alley drinking beers with his friends (Boomhauer, the playboy, is hilarious....Dale, the psychotic bug guy, and Bill, the lonely guy,(my favorite)).... who have escapades of their own). Khan(sp), his foreign neighbor) gives excellent counter to Hank (the golf resort episode is hilarious)
I could go on an on giving examples..and I tend to ramble.
But I really do think to truly enjoy it, you have to have the sense to know that this could be real life.

That Luanne's voice is from Brittany Murphy (Girl, Interrputed, Clueless, Don't Say a Word, and 8 Mile)
I think her voice is hilarious.

I know that two of the girls on last night's show were voiced by Milla Jevovich and Eliza Dushku. However, I don't know who voiced whom. Anyone know?

I dunno, there's just something about this show that I love. it's partially the innocence of all the characters-
ok, i'm lying. bobby. that character is absolutely hilarious, especially when he busts out a "yip" yelp. i think bill's voice is hilarious as well.
the other thing that this show has is PERFECT comic timing. the writers and voices chime in at just the right time with the animation, it's amazing. you think you are watching a sitcom.
don't get me wrong, i love the simpsons, but i love KOTH more lately. just like the person above said, the fact that it is a continuing show is great. buckley IS dead, dale and his wife ARE back together, Connie and Bobby broke up. it's just interesting!
a lot of people bash this show, but only on the basis of that "it's annoying." interesstinggg...

I enjoy King of the Hill for the ongoing story line... It is not deep, it is a toon, but I like it.
