well amc cut out the best part of part 2. when the chick gets killed in the boiling hot water, we see the first time and then goes to commercial.

the only thing fx can cut out is the little nudity and the one s word said by lorrie.

all of the other tv versions that ive seen show that part in its entirty (unless theres nudity) and then when shes dead, then they go to commercial. in the amc version, they went to commercial right at the begining.

I was surprised to switch past AMC and see they were running the original syndicated TV version! This had only been seen previously upon the film's first TV airings, and in recent years stations had simply been running edited theatrical prints.

This long unseen TV version features additional footage, re-edit scenes, repeated scenes, and my favorite, a still photo of Mikey inserted in place of a bloody sandwich!

Glad I had the DVD recorder ready..

I was finally able to upgrade from my old 2 head VHS copy from USA with it's hums, crackles and dropouts.
The sandwich scene is beyond bizarre, start in a bright kitchen and add a dark steamy shot of Mikey from the hottub.
The best part, IMO of course, was the alternate ending.
Spoiler:
JIMMY LIVES!

For those who missed it and want to see it it airs again on October 31 @ 2:00p and 10:00p EST.
