I've had gray hairs since I was sixteen. I had about three that really stood out then. Now I have maybe fifteen.

If you need a fix, and don't mind a chick flick, the actress who plays her is in the film White Oleander.

In this episode I noticed a parallel between Anya and Buffy. They both seemed to be destined for power. D'Hoffryn is definitely an ironic Watcher of sorts.
What I find weak about this episode is Anya was clearly not happy with what she was doing and Willow said nothing about this after visiting her. They do pull together and work it out - did I misread the song Walk Through The Fire, If We're Together?? Bah. Das, is right...a 5 minute start to figure things out.
Xander, the only real human left out of the gang, I hope he does keep talking.

While I loved the episode and am glad I taped it, they really missed an opportunity to make a good sub-story arc.
The Anya/Buffy connection and similarity is interesting and had potential for a future IMO. Rather than trying to kill her, Buffy could have confronted her with an ultimatum. Anya would refuse to stop as it is what she is. Buffy lets her leave with a matter of respect among friends with the knowledge that next time anything goes. I know this might sound crazy, but I kind of view Buffy and Anya as the Pacino and DeNiro characters in the movie Heat (check it out if you haven't seen it, great stuff!). One does what she does best, she's a vengeance demon, and the other does what she does best, stops people like her.
On an unrelated note, I love Pacino's departing line of " Brother, you are going down."

personally, i feel buffy *was* giving anya a reprieve of sorts. she did, afterall, stab her through the heart. she knew that wouldn't kill anya.
my feeling is that she was fighting her to buy time for anya to start feeling remorse or something. otherwise, should wouldn't have gotten beaten up so badly before ultimately chopping her head off. the fact that she took a lickin' and kept on tickin' and then stabbed her in the heart tells me she wasn't really going to kill her unless she absolutely had to.
plus, i just like watching hot women fight.
cranky.

das - I understand what you mean by the 5 minute lead. It did seem as though she left right after him and didn't really give him all that much time to find the alternative.
Also, I want to say that I agree with those who think the Angel/Cordy relationship is wrong. I just can't picture those two together and take it seriously. Same with Buffy and Spike. I also like that they did clarify the level of feelings Buffy still has for Angel. I wish they didn't feel the need to have these two involved all the time.

I just had a horrible thought.
What if this thing that "from beneath them, it devours" is out killing slayers. Of course the slayers being killed are the ones who are official or SITs. Buffy isn't one of those, which means it will work its way to...gulp....FAITH!!!
Don't let Faith die, please! I know it is Buffy's show and all, and having Faith give her own life as an act of redemption would be fitting and all, but she's so friggin hot!!! In my scenario, I would narrow the playing field down to three at the end: Dawn, Faith, and Buffy. The tag line would read: only one will survive.
Superstringtheory: Pacino is my favorite actor, I even used to have a poster back in college that had hsi character from heat holding a machine gun with the "Brother" quote on the side. Too cool!

I was happy with it. I disagree with it being among the absolute best Buffys, but it was solid. Glad people seemed to like it especially since it was a good example of what I think Buffy does best, balance between the humor, drama, and fantasy, away from the overly mopey episodes last season.
All I can say is thank heavens they finally got rid of Halfreck, an annoying character, added little, was tired, not too amusing- incineration time, yay!... Now, if only the same could happen to Dawn.
I think Buffy jumped the gun on killing Anya because Anya has always been so unsympathetic and self absorbed, so less than human, less than caring (for anyone except herself and Xander), so Buffy obviously thought about that over the years and kept her guard up for the possible day when Anya would go demon-y again. Its not like Anya has been someone who you could reason with when she was not overly being a demon, so Buffy figured she wont listen. I still dont like Anya, but last night was the first time the writers managed to make me fell a little sorry for her.
The only thing I didn’t like was the use of subtitles in the Nordic/Swedish flashbacks. They tried to make it look like the old Jack Frost, Magic Sword and such movies (some soft focus would have helped) and most of those films were dubbed, very rarely subtitled, so it would have been more amusing to dub the entire thing, but I guess that would confuse some people add to the obscurity too much. And, you know, I'm a movie dork, so it probably only bothered me. Can you say, "Sampo"?

I was very impressed with this episode especially after last weeks lackluster written mess.
Loved the character moments and glad they didnt concentrate too much on the school. I think bringing Sunnydale High too much into the forefront has been a mistake instead they concentrated on the Original characters like they should be doing.
You sure that "Other Buffy" wasnt the Big Bad and not a hallucination?
I am also in the camp that says that Buffy should be with Angel and Angel should not be with Cordi but who knows if that will ever happen.
Can someone please refresh my memory as to what the lie was that Zander made in Becomming Part two?
I have to say, I loved the Abercrombie line too. Great!
