Do we know if Carol has a bad relationship with her father? She sure seems pretty pissed at him in the commercials!

Not a bad episode, but not great either. I knew Ed would do what he did at the dance. The Cheswick storyline was OK, but a little far-reaching, I think. I appreciate though that they're getting back to episodes where every subplot is about the same value (ie fear).

It was nice to see Dan Lauria (The Wonder Years) in a father role again. Warren's scenes generated some nice laughs as always.

I thought that was one of the weaker episodes I've seen of the show, and I've seen them all. The whole subplot with Carol's father failed to interest me at all. The other 2 subplots going on weren't really all that interesting either, they felt very rushed.

I didn't really like this episode. There was no Phil (which was great, since I really can't stand him anymore), but it seemed like Warren took over his personality for last night. There was no Mike, and we only saw Nancy for a brief scene.

Is this the first show in which we haven't seen Ed and Carol in a scene together? I don't think that they shared the screen at all last night...

I did what Eli did when Ed went for the flip, LMMFAO. That was the high point of the show. Otherwise, a pretty limp episode, even with Cheswick's No. 3 pencil on display.

I dunno, this ep didn't grab me. What did grab me were the veins in Carol's neck. Holy cow. When she was yelling at her dad, I about wanted to jump behind my futon. "Nooo! Stay back, evil neck veins! I rebuke you!" She's still cute when she's angry, though. Has Carol ever gotten that pissed off with anyone else?

As soon as Eli was all, "Yeah, that guy's going to win that contest now," I was like, "Ed's going to enter the contest." I hate it when I can predict plots.

The "Pencils Down" slogan? Catchy. Cheswick wearing nothing more than two SAT bubbles? Scary.

An angry Carol is a hot Carol.

On a side note, I just can't believe that Julie Bowen is dating David Spade. She deserves better than Finch!

what??? did she want to date someone that had the same kind of hairstyle as she does?

last night's episode was alright. but i wasn't sure if it showed any kind of hint of whether or not she was going to break things off with Dennis since I assume that if you don't tell your parents that you're going to get married, that would be a bad thing. but they seemed to drop that minor detail after the birthday party.

deep fried pie and

Oh, man. That was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. I had to rewind it about 6 or 7 times!

Has the show gotten new writers? Dialogue like, "Stop trippin'!" and "You broke mah ass!" does not belong on a show like "Ed".

Honk!

For sheezy, my neezy!

That being said Ed is going downhill fast. I'm sick of Eli, if they could bring back the Foo Fighters song, they can damn sure bring back Kenny.

I don't have a problem with Eli, but they are using him a lot. He's been introduced, now they should back off a little. I wish he was replacing Phil instead of Kenny. I don't think we need two loudmouths in the bowling alley. They'll take up too much time. Kenny was usually a background character, while they have Eli getting entire subplots for every show he's been in.

Definitely need more Mike. I've always considered him the funniest character on the show, and some shows he only gets to do the $10 gag. The fried pie bit was easily the funniest thing on the show this week. Carol as usual gets stuck being the big downer and this time it didn't even have anything to do with Ed!

Pretty average episode, I thought. I had a hard time getting into the jitterbug contest storyline.

I still laugh when I think of the "You broke mah ass!" line from the episode.

Questions about this episode.

1st. Carol's dad lives in florida, but has a house in stuckyville and lives with his wife that carol has never met in the house in stuckyville? What, why is there a house there that he hasn't been two in several years.

2nd. Was there complaining that there were no black people in stuckyville or something. Its like they are coming out of the wood work now, and all of them for some reason do the jitterbug? I wish they would lay off the jive for every black character on the show, I think it makes the show seem pretty racist.

3rd. What happened to the law firm, i think if my memory serves me correct, the only case this season was danny devito's case. The show needs to get back to its roots.

4th. Where was phil?

5th. Is donkeylips getting fatter? I guess his date last week about the diet went way bad. (donkeylips is the fat kid, if you know the original reference, you are a friend of mine)

6th. Was that the worst episode ever? Besides warren, the rest of the show was awful.
