From The People Beat p 2F of the San Antonio Express News 10 Oct '02:
'ER' actress drops 117 pounds
"ER" viewers will be seeing less of actress Yvette Freeman, and she is thrilled about it.
Freeman, who plays nurse Haleh Adams, lost 117 pounds during the hospital drama's summer hiatus -- so much that she had to be left out of the season premiere. On last season's cliffhanger episode, she weighed 257 pounds. The first episode of this season's "ER" picked up 15 minutes afterward, and Freeman did not appear.
In an interview with People, Freeman enjoyed her predicament, sayin, "How many people in Hollywood get written out of something because they're too small."

Whoa, over the summer? GEez
There was a guy in my highschool class who lost atleast 100 pounds over the summer. He went from a good 250, 300 lbs to 150ish, if not less. He was skinny as a rail!!

That's not healthy, I'm surprised she is happy about that.

But she looks older now.

Losing that much weight that fast is not only unhealthy, it's also pointless. She'll most likely gain more than half that weight back within 6 months. Fad diets and ill-advised fasts are not what's needed for permanent weight loss.
I also went to high school with a guy who lost a lot of weight over a summer, 108 pounds to be exact. I know the precise amount because he never stopped telling people. He resumed his old eating habits, and by the end of the school year he was even fatter than he had been originally.
Honk!

One of my best friends lost almost 100 pounds in a year and the doctors were very worried that he was doing lots of drugs and stuff because losing weight like that is very unheathly, it can really do a lot of damage to the heart. I'm sure she's thrilled to loose weight, but a the rate she did it there are going to be some bad side effects, like someone stated she may end up gaining most of it back and then some.

That's a horrible picture. There was an article about her in the new People magazine, with a picture of her in a sexy red dress and she looks really good.
(Can't find it online though.)

Wow, that's a lot of weight quick. I think they say 2.5 lbs a week is the most you should safely lose. If she did do a stomachectomy, at least she could keep it off.

there was an article about this in last weeks people mag. she started the program last fall at UCLA (i think) it was a weight loss program run by the hospital and she had a personal trainer's help too. she did it b/c a couple of her friends had died recently, all overweight, and one from diabetes related illness. she was in a high-risk situation with her own health too.
IMO she looks great. i was shocked at first and thought she looked bad but the more i looked at the pic i think she looks good. 10 years younger!
