Kate? isn't that the female character still in there that went out with drew and the other friend?
I remember drew's first love interest was written off after some time and some stories.

Christa Miller is now on another show, created by her husband. The show is called "Scrubs" on NBC on Thursday nights behind Friends. She plays Jordan, Dr. Cox's ex-wife who on the hospital board.

Cynthia Wattros (formerly of "Titus") has been written in as her replacement. A pretty decent "trade-in" if you ask me.
Good gawd she gives me the hot...

Kate (Christa Miller) is not completely done. She is still in another one or two episodes before she is completely gone from the Drew Carey Show. Anyone else not happy with the direction that the show has taken so far this year?

Both my wife and I agreed that Ms. Wattros is a urine-poor replacement for Kate. But I will give the character a little more time to fit in.
At least Drew (or Oswald & Lewis for that matter) hasn't adopted a kid, yet. I'm sure it's coming.
Step 1: Have a successful show.
Step 2: As ratings begin to dip, come up with creative way to "tinker" with the formula. Tinkering lifts ratings!
Step 3: Shift the show around on your schedule. Mystery timeslots always boosts ratings!
Step 4: As people start to abandon ship, replace them with characters that are as alike as possible, except that they have no chemistry with the current cast. Freshness raises ratings!
Step 5: Add a kid. Youth always increases ratings!
Step 6: Cancel the show.

We actually stopped watching when the whole "drew/kate" marriage/not wanting a baby thing happened. Those two married would have been a good thing, or just staying apart would have been good, but something about the way it went down was irritating.

Yeah - at the beginning of last season of Titus. That was after she gave birth.

BTW - they DID add a baby. Mimi had one recently and Drew died and came back as the baby... ugh - I'm gonna hurl that's so bad!
Christa Miller is the rat leaving the sinking ship - she's MUCH better served on SCRUBS. It is a great show.
