It's system. Singular. "...we found a new solar system and hundreds of Earths were terraformed and colonized."

FUBAR.

I cannot make them say 'galaxy' for you. Now you're just bumming me out, man. :(

I missed the first episode but I did enjoy the show this week it is funny and it appeared to keep a good pace I don't care for the "doctor guy and Lil' sis" they are annoying. I do like Adam Baldwin that interview part with him was pretty funny. I do agree that they need to show the pilot I thought that is what they showed last week we definitely need to know a little more about these characters before we can give the show a decent chance.

Gee... you're probably right. I mean a little known, short-lived show called The X-Files started out in a similar Friday time slot and only lasted for nine seasons and one feature length film.

That River chick is TOTALLY annoying. I used to be bugged by Druscilla on Buffy, but she intruiged me as well. River is just pointlessly babbling it seems. I guess we'll have to wait until the pilot is aired to (hopefully) figure out her deal. Also Dr. Simon is SO boring, why should be believe that
Kaylee has the hots for him? Also Book (Ron Glass - 'The Shepherd') needs more to do than have everyone make cracks about him praying for each situation. The characters all seem so one-dimensional... probably because all the development of their characters was mostly done in the PILOT!!!!!! I need backstory, FOX!

Enjoyed this episode more than the last one, but it still is radically trailing John Doe in my ratings book!

So let me get this straight, the past two episodes were actually episodes 2 and 3 because Fox pulled the pilot at the last minute?

OK, now that's weird. I tried to be a smartass and reply to that question twice, but the server only loads one of them. :)

Anyway, if I'm not mistaken, there's the first pilot, which FOX rejected (probably because it was good), then a second pilot which should have been the 2-hour introduction to the series. FOX, in their finite wisdom, yanked that as well and decided to air 'The Train Job' first as it was more action-packed.

The whole existance of the show is pretty last minute to begin with (which doesn't look good for it). Remember, up until the very last second, Cameron was able to through his considerable weight around to keep Dark Angel on the schedule. But that show had declined so far even he could save it, and Firefly just stumbled in at the end.

The pilot was 2-hours, so the past two episodes could be considered episodes 3 & 4.

Having seen the pilot, I really feel that Fox hurt the show by not showing it in the proper order. The pilot really gave you alot of insite into the characters and how they got where they are now. As for the pilot not being "action-packed" enough for FOX, all of the episodes so far have been pretty much of a snooze. Even the ghost ship (which could have been pretty creepy) seemed kind of lame. This show is in danger of hemoraging viewers fast.

Wow, it sounds like I'm the only person who's enjoying this show. It's kind of hokey, but it has its moments.

I didn't see the either pilot episode, but I feel like I kind of have a grasp on the characters.
