Ferret lovers outraged at verizon commercial
I used to own a ferret and while I loved it, the little *****er bit me all the time. I found the new Verizon commercial with the slacker and his ferret who attacks him hysterical. But there are protests all over the internet.
Here's one from FerretCity.com
VERIZON IS VICIOUS -- NOT FERRETS !!!
We at FerretCity are shocked and horrified by a new Verizon Wireless television commercial that shows a ferret in a stand-off with a man in his living room (we are led to believe that the ferret is the man's pet). The ferret jumps at the man and plants its teeth into the man's face. The man goes running out of the house, screaming in pain, with a ferret attached to his face, viciously biting him.
We are absolutely stunned that this ad idea was given a green light by Verizon's marketing department. What were they thinking? Are they so out of touch with the American population that they don't know that ferrets are in the top five favorite pets in the U.S.? Anyone who owns a ferret knows that ferrets are NOT like the one portrayed in the commercial. Anyone who owns a ferret knows that they are sweet, loving, affectionate, wonderful pets.
We are urging our readers to contact Verizon and Bozell (the advertising agency who developed the ad), and tell them both that this is an inaccurate portrayal of ferrets.

I remember reading years ago about a pet ferret that ate part of a baby's face. It was in Astoria, I think. Don't know if the baby was dead already, or if the ferret killed it, but it made me think, gee, ferrets might not be great for people with newborns.

The commercial would be better if, between bites, the ferret would be screaming "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? GOOD!"
This goes for pythons, too. Just FYI...

Okay, I hate to have to say this, but...
FERRETS ARE FREAKING WEASELS.
Of course they're mean and they bite. My God, they're weasels. I'm sorry, but they are.

The commercial makes me laugh every time I see it. I don't think it's really saying anything too bad about ferrets...the little punk was just getting the slacker back.

duck people are offended by the AFLAC commercial.
ferret people are offended by the Verizon commercial.
sounds like somebody needs to learn how to transplant backbones, cuz there's a bunch of people in this country without them.

I don't know about you, but I'd expect ass service to be crappy.
But really, this just goes to show you that no matter what you do, there will be a group of people out there that will be offended.
