What's the big deal about over Dr. Phil?

Can anyone please tell me what's the big deal over Dr. Phil? What's so special about him that he has his own TV show? Does anyone here even watch his show?

Never seen Oprah or Dr. Phil, but after seeing a spoof of him many months back, it seems I keep hearing his name even more frequently.

It is amazing that Oprah still is so popular, I can only think of Al Bundy making fun of her when I hear her show mentioned.

I have no idea either but my mom has decided to by a Tivo because she is never home to see it. I watched him once on Oprah and realized immediately he is an idiot for housewives. All it took was for him to tell a women that her husband was molesting their daughters because he looked at porn on the internet and the girls in the porn were in their 20's. Amazingly enough the husband wasn't there to defend himself and Dr. Phil said it was not normal or at least the average guy doesn't look at porn because he is the average guy.

Well, Dr. Phil had become a regular on the Oprah show, and the producers thought a spinoff show for Dr. Phil would be great. The Dr.Phil show is produced by Oprah's production company (Haspro). I find his show dumb, honestly I could do the same job, giving advice and common sense is easy, using it yourself is tricky.

For the past year or two, Dr Phil was THE Oprah show every Tuesday. He was the sole guest and analyzed problems for audience members.

I just had this conversation two nights ago. This girl mentioned Dr. Phil, I asked her who he was and she almost fell out of her chair. She could't believe I've never heard of him.

Did anyone see the latest Crank Yankers when they said Oprah was given her name because Harpo was the only Marx (I think) brother her mother didn't have an affair with.

I surfed by Dr Phil last night and saw some woman crying her eyes out in extreme close up, reminded me of the old Queen for a Day. Its the same old relationship stuff that has been peddled for the last few decades by various "experts." Flipped back later and there was some couple talking about their sex life, mainly that wifey was just too tired to give it up for her studly hubby. Then they showed the husband and ran a crawl underneath like Jenny Jones that said "LIKES TO HAVE SEX TWICE A DAY." One look at the guy and I thought they should have added "BUT NOT WITH WOMEN."

Is it just me, or does anyone keep expecting Dr. Phil to belt out a big Hey, now! at any given moment?

If anyone cares, the Dr. Phil show is taped on the Paramount studio lot (I got to see a taping of Becker last week and noticed a big hulabuloo in front of his studio with the big "Dr. Phil" signage on it).

I just like that David Letterman rips on Dr. phil every night now, Dr. Phil says some stupid things like "sometimes you can't see your own face without a mirror". Wow that's amazing I never would have known that

He and his crappy son have books that tell us how to deal with life's problem's. Hell, I learned that watching Rifleman, MaGyver and Lone Ranger.

"Oprah!!! Two Hot Pockets and a plate of pizza rolls on a table don't make it a buffet."

"OPRAH, if it smells bad then you probably need to wash it!"

"Absolutely Oprah! Don't dip your pen in the company ink when you got your hand in the cookie jar, one foot in the grave, and the neighbor's dog humping your leg."

My personal favorite goes something like this: So you've heard of this Dr. Phil guy? He used to be married to Oprah. Anyway, Dr. Phil....

I liked the dubed one the same night where it was Dr. Phil talking but the voice was saying "If you want to feel better, get a hooker."

Does anybody else think that Dr Phil looks like the guy who played the shrink on Three's Company?
