American Idol: Live in Vegas Tonight 9/23

I also posted this in my weekly fall Tv thread, but just in case any American Idol fans haven't heard, a reminder that tonight is the two hour special concert featuring all the finalists performing.

Should be cheesy, but I'll be watching

Thankfully the fall season hasn't gotten into full-swing so there's not much else to watch tonight.

It airs tonight on Fox at 8/eastern.

Not much else to watch tonight?

Celebrity Fear Factor and WWE RAW both air opposite part of the AI Concert. It's a very busy cheesy night of TV for me. Thank heavens for Tivo & the old vcr.

And for those who just can't get enough of Kelly Clarkson, she's on The Tonight Show (tonight).

The only thing else I'm taping tonight is Everwood and then CSI: Miami at 10.

For me, Mondays are light until Boston Public starts up again (also going to start watching Girls Club when that premieres.)

The level at which this thing sucks cannot be measured by any human technology.

Das, I didn't think it was humanly possible, but this show will both suck and blow at the same time

Canadians missing Everwood

Here in Canada, CTV has chosen to show the Idol reunion instead of Everwood.
Pretty crappy if you ask me..

Sorry about the delayed reply. My keyboard (and my doggie *sniffle*) were sucked into the vortex that is this show.

das

P.S. Looks like my 16x9 TV is now 4:3. Hopefully it will shift back from suck to blow before CSI: Miami starts.

Ouch ... that poor kid caught on camera singing along to "A Moment Like This" is going to catch a severe beating at school tomorrow.

Ooh, gee, after watching 10 minutes, I'm ready to puke.

I imagine the "tour" will basically be a condensed version of that: with nonthreatening cover songs and matching outfits. I'm so ashamed to be living in the same city where the tour kicks off.

Oh dear am I the only one who actually enjoyed the show? Mind you, I wouldn't pay two cents to see it "live" but for free it was okay.

If this is what the "tour" will be like, I'm thankful I'm not a fan of this crap! Thank Goodness only 1 person has asked me about Kelly's Clarkson's CD single at work (which has not arrived yet!) Maybe this show is waning in being popular? I hope so.

Is it just me or have they all worn the same clothes the whole time?

Come on 9pm! I want my "Everwood" starring Treat Williams!

You ain't the only one, pal. I swear, I'm pretty sure I heard the simultanious clicking of hundred of TV dials spinning rapidly towards MNF and the King of Queens. Yuck-o!
It's official -- Phenomenon Over, film at 8/7 central.

Wow! For someone who hates the show so much and isn't a fan of this crap you sure seem can't to change the channel! Hmm... time for a letter to the editor to ponder this thought?

I watched it. It was like a car accident. I knew that I should have turned away, but I couldn't. The morbid curiosity won out.

They seemed to get RJ a lot of solos, while Jim Vararos seemed to get hardly any, at least less than anyone else in the top ten (but then again, the only reason he made the top ten was the sympathy vote). Ejay now has a bigger afro than Justin. There were a couple of hot chicks there that didn't make it to the top ten, and they were looking fine. During one video from the desert, they were all dressed like strippers. Couldn't they get any different songs to sing? Most were already performed as filler in the other shows.

It reminded me of the South Park episode Rainforest Shmainforest, with the kids choir that really sucked. Or a beauty pageant's talent competition. I think that it showed that Kelly Clarkson deserved to win though, and I liked her duet with Reba McEntire.

BTW, Fox kept saying that Kelly was going to perform her number one song, but I missed it when they said what chart it was number one on. Did anyone catch it? Did they say it? I would guess that it would be the CD singles chart, but I don't know for sure...

It was bizarre seeing so many other "singers/dancers" on stage (did all of them really audition for AI, or were they just filler in the cast?)

The filler songs (filmed earlier than the show) were a bit cheesy.

I watched up to the point where Kelly got to do the duet with Reba McEntire near the end of the show. I thought that was a good duet (and Kelly's "How cool is that?" was a nice reaction to the experience/performance).

I will say that Ryan Starr as a nice visual presence. I was over at my uncle's place, and he enjoyed Ryan's performance very much. My cousin (female) is going to the Atlanta AI concert in October, and she was laughing about it because she's going with her friends from high school (they are all now in their 30's), and they would have to keep it hush-hush as to their attendance of the show. Heh.
