Wow ... that was pretty damn good.
LOVED all the inside jokes, from Star Trek to Spiderman. Ted Raimi was the absolute perfect choice for that role, infusing humor and heart into the show in a way he mastered on Xena.
The "science" of the show is still really fuzzy (and a bit silly at times), but I'm still enjoying it.

For those with Tivo, I have no gide data for this episode or next, so Tivo assumes they are one and the same so check your wishlists/season passes. Since I missed Friday's airing I am still trying to find a non conflicted recording.

Yep, I'd enthusiastically proclaimed in a previous thread that the last three weeks had been particularly rewarding ... THIS week was the best yet! Ted was really terrific. His coming in and the wit of the script really highlighted the offbeat humor of the series that's been there all along. However, I'd never wring my hands over "the science" of the story ... so long as it's entertaining. After all, they saw the Earth destroyed and were spirited back in time by a nosey space alien ... and his name wasn't Nikola Tesla, at least not yet anyway.
Note for non-Texans: When ever-yummy Angela so longingly recalls her passionate diddling near the runways of Dallas Love Field (a name chosen for obvious reasons) ... well, technically that's possible. But in reality, even say 10 years ago, the airport's nearly smack dab in the middle of downtown. Not the romantic, wide-open spaces they seem to imply.
Another note to Art Bell listeners: Anyone's ears perk to the Phaedra ref? Maybe our scripters are dialed in to Coast to Coast!? Either that or just big fans of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood's "Some Velvet Morning." The "How she made it end" lyric fits the Odyssey 5 plot really well:
LEE:
Some velvet mornin' when I'm straight
I'm gonna open up your gate
And maybe tell you 'bout Phaedra
And how she gave me life
And how she made it end
Some velvet mornin' when I'm straight
NANCY:
Flowers growing on a hill, dragonflies and daffodils
Learn from us very much, look at us but do not touch
Phaedra is my name
LEE:
Some velvet mornin' when I'm straight
I'm gonna open up your gate
And maybe tell you 'bout Phaedra
And how she gave me life
And how she made it end
Some velvet mornin' when I'm straight
NANCY:
Flowers are the things we know, secrets are the things we grow
Learn from us very much, look at us but do not touch
Phaedra is my name
LEE: Some velvet mornin' when I'm straight

LEE: And maybe tell you 'bout Phaedra
NANCY: Learn from us very much

NANCY: look at us but do not touch
FADE

G. Noel Gross - very cool connection with the lyrics!
And I too loved this last episode - this show has gotten me more and more hooked each week. Such a fun, rollicking good time.
