See, being in the west coast, I don't know the winners yet, since it's only 9:30. Before I got tempted to peek at the 2nd page, I decided to go to another site...I picked E! Online.

And that stupid $%#! News Scrolls announces the winner! I was so furious! At least Yahoo! didn't announce who it was unless you clicked the stupid link! Argh!!!!

Anyhow, I knew that was going to happen, so I'm angry for no reason.

After watching those stupid musical things, I now really dislike AJ, Ryan and EJ. If I were to spend $30-$40, I could list hundreds of things I'd rather use that money on then that stupid tour thing. It's sad that they all have tour around the country. If I were Kelly, I'd be so pissed I'd have to end up with the other 9 losers for a period of time. I would quit if I had to spend that time with the British guy too.

I'm so glad if I missed another Will Young performance, that guy sings like a baby.

Probably just Ford Focus backlash, and that cheesy promo tossed in for "Swimfan".

I literally fell asleep for about half an hour during the show. I missed the stuff from about the 70 minute mark to the 100 minute mark. Also, I was watching the A's game at the same time...

Geez, it was SO DAMN OBVIOUS that Kelly was going to win after they declared her singing of "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" to be the #1 audition/performance of the entire run of the show. I thought it was funny that one of Justin's performances was 3rd....and Tamyra was second.

Anyway, the best remaining person won....I still think Tamyra can sing better than Kelly. Oh well. Congrats to Kelly. Her reaction was pretty cool....at first I was put off because she didn't seem to show any emotion...as if she knew she would win (can't blame her, really though)....but then when she started crying and showing more emotion, I was satisfied.

By the way, does anybody know what the hell happened to Eden's Crush and Scene 23 from Popstars and Popstars 2, respectively? I haven't heard anything about them since the shows.

I think me and WarriorPrincess were the only ones who watched that stuff....or at least that's what it seemed like since we were the only ones occupying those threads.

Pretty good finale. I missed all of the auditions so it was nice to see how horrible these people were. Tone deaf people should be shot.

There sure are many celebrity fans to this show. I caught several in the audience.

Those original songs are boring. One song sounds like it goes on and on. Kelly made the most of it but I don't have too much interest in the song they are putting out as a single.

Will Young was awful. Are we in the 60's or the 21st century? As Randy Jackson might say "that was your worst performance, dude." I couldn't stand his voice. And to think this guy won England's "Pop Idol"!

Kelly's performance last night was only OK compared to Wednesday but good for Kelly. A much deserved win over Justin. Looking back to Justin's auditions, he was so much better when he was singing to the judges alone. When he sang to crowds, he got all cheesy with his hand gestures and grins. Tamyra should have a very good singing career and the old footage was proof to that.

I know Fox is going to miss this highly rated show.

This is one of those shows that you just want to end tonight. I think this show (the entire season) was awesome, but they'll ruin it by doing this every year. Maybe do it every 3 years or something. But no, they'll milk this for all its worth. The only thing it has going for it for next year is that the talent level should be a lot higher now that it's higher profile.

Don't get me wrong, I loved this season. It was a fun show, but the last thing America needs is more music spoon fed to us (or at least attempting). We get enough of that from MTV.

That said, they'd really impress me if they did a band version of the show. No, not boy bands, but anything with actual musicians. However, they'd have to do a "rock" or "metal" type season because it would be hard to critique a rock band vs. a country band. Maybe this is why they haven't done it.

LOL, Zeus - me and you, baby! But I too haven't heard anything more from either band. Though I did keep the episode when my cousin was on Popstars for about 3 seconds (she was in the second L.A. round from which Maile was eventually chosen).

Anyway, back to the show at hand.

I loved it - the two hours were more entertaining than I expected, and I just bawled like a baby when Kelly won and was crying, and Justin was so sweet and supportive, and everyone was giving her a standing ovation...wonderful. I hope against hope that she, Justin, and Tamyra are able to make wondeful albums with wonderful songs, and avoid the trite Warren ballads as much as possible.

Way to go Kelly, and way to show some class Justin - you are both wonderful.

GOTTA LOVE THE OPENING PARAGRAPH IN TODAY'S CHICAGO SUN-TIMES STORY:

The cocktail waitress from Texas beat out the lanky, androgynous door-to-door salesman with the Sideshow Bob haircut in Wednesday night's finale of what has passed for this summer's "watercooler" TV show.

I think they whould make next years show just the auditions of the rejects. CRAP, I almost wet myself laughing at some of those. I cant see how they thought they were doing ok?

I was thinking the teen girl vote might have pushed Justin to the win. The guy is a great personality but that Kelly is just so likeable!

Wow. Thanks for the info G-dub. That's kinda sad in a depressing sort of way and kinda sad in a pathetic sort of way. Too bad.

Did Kelly win because she was the only one to stay primarily on key for most of her performances? I watched a few of the early 10 finalist episodes, got bored with the whole premise and only decided to watch the last 15 minutes of last night's finale to hear the so-called single.

Oh. My. God.

Could someone please end this "phenomenon" right this instant? What a vapid, cliche-filled, obviously-whipped-up-in-an-afternoon single! Out of the bunch that were crowded back on that stage, Kelly definitely out-sang the lot. But that's not saying much. You still had some of those "boy" singers cracking their voices from puberty.

Just when you think this boy-band, teen-pop musical slide was going to end, they find a way to wring some last few drops of life from the corpse.

I personally don't ever want to hear that "up-with-people" reject theme ever again. I can't imagine anyone else would either.

And to think that ugly, ugly brit - with the personality of a thistle, the shameless manners of a pole-swinger at a nudie gentlemen's club and that mossy toothsome jack-o-lantern grin - was the cause of ruining the American music charts for who knows how many months.

What a steaming pile.

Y'know I've never actually been inside. It doesn't draw the type of crowds I'm interested in. All of 'em too young, too thin and too fragile with recent "coming out" scars. All I know is that it's a warehouse sized dance emporium with endless amounts of bass-heavy "thumpy-thumpy" diva music piped in that annoys the nouveau riche dunderheads that decided to purchase their $400,000 condominiums above the dance-club's building long skylight.

Let me know how it is - since it'll be the first and last dance club to ever open in Boystown before the creeping sprawl of gentrification pushes gay life even further up-town.

Oh. God. Make it stop.

Kelly is a good singer, but could they give her a more interesting song to sing? Please? Just give that vapid crap she sang to Celine and be done with it.

Shudder.

I kinda noticed that too when he was singing Unchained Melody. With his range I was wondering why I never paid attention to him before and why he didn't make it to the top five. He's not a bad singer, but he's got an evil, weird looking face.

Remember, many people didn't vote based on talent, but on charisma, and for many, Justin was better in that department that EJ (serious chin/underbite!)

Was EJ the shrimpy one with the really awful pencil-thin facial "hair?"

Or was EJ the model-cute Hispanic boy that Simon snorted was only good for bedding . . . er, I mean boy-band fodder?

EJ is the black guy that looks like a cross between Charley Pride and George Michael if his face was crushed by an anvil.

He initially did not make it into the Top 30 but replaced a guy lied about his age. However, he had a great performance in the first semi-final and got voted into the Top 10. However, in the finals, he was pretty average and got voted out quickly.
