I'm watching this on sci fi. They are doing some serious editing on the language that is annoying me. Are they also editing scenes?

In the just broadcast episode on Sci-Fi, are we to presume that the "enemy" that's going around killing sentient species is behind the Leviathan project? I don't see how an AI simulation can destroy anything.

Considering there is some nudity on the DVDs I strongly suspect some scenes are getting cut/cropped.

BTW is there an ending to it or does it end on a cliff hanger? I'm renting the DVDs and enjoying it so far, but if it ends on a cliff hanger I might just drop it now...
