Whoo Hoo!!
She's one of the reasons I started watching Buffy. [Well, her & those fabulous leather pants...
] Wouldn't it be great if we got Faith, the Vampire Slayer instead of Dawnie, the Vampire Slayer...

Dushku will return to ''Buffy'' this season
Fans of ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' who've lost faith over the last couple of seasons will surely rejoice over the news of Eliza Dushku's return to the series. According to the Hollywood Reporter, producers confirmed the recent rumors that Dushku will be back this season as Faith, the renegade slayer who made Buffy's life even more miserable than usual during the 1998-2000 seasons. She'll also be popping up on spinoff ''Angel,'' producers said.
There has been much talk that this may be the final season of ''Buffy,'' with Sarah Michelle Gellar itching to capitalize on her burgeoning post-''Scooby Doo'' film career. Producers tell the Hollywood Reporter that no decision has been made regarding the show's future, but the fact that Faith isn't showing up until the final five episodes of the season would provide a climactic opportunity for the series to go out with a bang. Dushku fans who can't wait until those shows air next spring can catch the actress next month on the big screen in ''City by the Sea,'' opposite Robert De Niro, Frances McDormand, and James Franco.

Saw Eliza on Letterman last night-- wow, did she look different. She's put on a significant amount of weight since Buffy, Bring it On, or J&SBSB

Faith needs her own spinoff show. I hope when Faith comes out of jail she doesnt continue being bad. What a waste to the Angel season 2 storyline would that be.

Haven't completely caught up on all the Buffy eps, so I only know Faith by reputation. But judging from other fans' reactions, I'm sure I'm in for something good.
I would like to say though that I think the idea of Dawn the Slayer to be one with some merit. From what I've read, the Chosen One is usually pre-trained and ready and wants the job. Buffy was an anomoly, and only reluctantly took on the responsibility. Now take someone like Dawn, who not only wouldn't want the responsibility even if she had no idea beforehand what it was all about, but esp if she's seen firsthand the devastating effects it has including
, and would be hardly prepared as the Scoob's never seem to let her join in the fun. That would make some interesting drama IMHO.

Forget it. I just d/l it and watched it.
Significant amount? I wouldn't go that far. I'm hoping it's enough to cover up the ribs. [unlike that pic above]
But I will say that scratchy voice [thanks to a cold] was pushing all KINDS of buttons over here.

Right, when Buffy died the first time, it called Kendra. It was Kendra dying that called Faith. So the line runs thru Faith, she'll have to die to call another slayer. Technically, she is *the* slayer, and Buffy would be a rogue vampire hunter, but since Faith is indisposed, it falls to Buffy.

Okay, Kendra died and it called Faith. Why did they need Faith? I thought there was only supposed to be one slayer at a time. Maybe I'm just mixed up on my Buffy lore.
I will not shun a return of Eliza though!

I think they ought to do a "Flatliners" on Faith and call a new Slayer.
Or have Faith become a vamp. That would be cool to have a Vampire Slayer as a Vamp duel with Buffy!

Because Kendra was the slayer, so when she died a new slayer was called. Buffy's completely out of the loop and doesn't count at all in official slayerdom. The watcher's council doesn't like her much either, so I don't see them making her official again.

I was just thinking.
If SMG wants to leave the show, but Joss wants to keep it going.
What if something were to happen to Buffy -- say she were to inhabit another character's body. That way you could still have a show called "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" but without Sarah. You'd still have Buffy as the lead, and would be able to use a different actor, and have a good explanation for the change.
If Buffy's spirit were to move into Faith's body, it would be a good way to get the slayer mojo back with Buffy.

I think the series is on its last legs. This seasons last episodes were really good, but I think it would be best to end it before Joss runs out of things to do with these characters. He's put most of them through hell and then some, I'd like to see them happy again even if it wont last and some big evil comes about to wreck it.

I thought the opposite--that the first 8 eps or so were good, and then it fell apart (for me). I watched the whole series with my sister (have 1-4 on dvd, and 5-6 on vcd
, and we finally decided we didn't like anyone by the end of season 6, except Tara, who's
, Anya, who's
and Spike, who's totally *****ed up. It was my favorite show for a long time though, and I hope season 7 has less gloom and more vampire butt-kicking than season 6, so I can be happy watching it.
