The Mole to return

A "Celebrity edition" in January or March and a regular version likely for next summer.

I'll only watch a celebrity version if Fred Savage is on it.

Great news! I'm not especially thrilled about the celebrity edition, but I'm glad to see the Mole being given new life. I sure do hope that Andersen returns as host. It won't be the same without him.

I'm thrilled, but I'm suprised that it would only take 10 days to film a Celebrity edition. What's the normal shooting schedule for the show?

Wouldn't Cindy Crawford be the ideal candidate?

i read the story and my first inkling was to come on here and post it (sad, really), but anyway, looks like someone else got to spread the good news.

freedexter: I think normal shooting is about six weeks.

But anywho, awesome news. Not only regular Mole, but a celebrity Mole which should be fun. Now to ready the audition tape!

Mole 2 took about a month to shoot. Mole 1 probably took 1 or 2 weeks shorter. Each episode is around 3 days.

I'm glad there will be a regular civilian Mole again. The celebrity one doesn't sound that great to me since there's only 10 days max of filming. And the Mole would be depriving money from great charities!

The article said that the rules would be worked so that all the celebrities charity causes get money.

Glad to see the Mole return but not too thrilled that only celebs get to play this time. But it's good news that they're opening up a third for regular people somewhere down the line! From what I recall, ABC required the players to be available for 6 weeks of shooting on Mole 2.

Can we go in and nominate celebs we'd like to see on the game?

I have to say, I dont have even the slightest interest in a Celebrity Mole. Any celeb desperate enough for the publicity to sign up for it, well... I wouldnt be interested in.

That said. I think Bob Denver will be the Mole.

I think I'll wait for the real, next summer, edition.

I just wanted to add, I think this is great news.

I caught part of one episode of the 1st Mole. I didn't understand any of the rules since I caught it in the middle of an episode, so I quickly lost interest. Then, I got sucked into one of the last episodes of the 2nd Mole (the one with the "Tiny Bubbles" room) and wound up watching the rest of the episodes and actually understand the rules now.

Now that I understand how the game works, I want to see one from the beginning, so I'm glad it'll be back.

Celeb mole could be interesting, if they chose the celebrities right. But, if it's "reality" celebs, like Ritchard Hatch and Darva Conger I won't be watching.

I want real celebs. I'll start us off with two I'd like to see on the show:

James Gandolfini
Jennifer Garner

Peter Brady will be the mole -- everyone knows he's a Benedict Arnold doublecrosser

The fact that most TV shows have already started filming, finding any currently working TV celebs to duck out of work for ten days is going to be difficult. We're going to be stuck with unemployed 'celebs.'

Why do all of these reality/game shows have to have Celebrity editions? Dog Eat Dog, Fear Factor, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Weakest Link, and rumours of Survivor and Big Brother celebrity shows as well. Regardless, I really hope that Anderson Cooper is back. He is a great host for it, very droll.

I hate celebrity editions of things like this. It always becomes less about the show and more about the celebrities. And they always all have to see which one can upstage everybody else. It becomes a competition (outcute, outbrag, outstage) and I get sick of it quickly.

I'll still tune in, though, since I love the game. I just hope they get celebs who want to play the game rather than just act out for the camera.

YES!!!!! MOLE!!!

YES!!!!!! I'm so exicted! The Mole is my favorite show! I hate most of those reality shows like Survivor, ect. but the Mole was different and classic "who done it" with elements of a game show and an avdneture show.

I don't know what to think about a celeb edition, but looking forward to Mole 3! Anderson better come back, it wouldn't be the same without him. is he stuck in his CNN contact, or can he come back and do it??

I plan in sending a video in and try to be on the next Mole. Knwoing my luck, I'd get elemenated first

The best thing about Celebrity Mole is that it keeps the game fresh in the eyes of the viewing public, as the article said, Mole 3 isn't a go yet, so having Celebrity Mole's publicity and visibility will help make Mole 3 a go, so lets all watch.
