The Sopranos = The Simpsons ???
I love both shows and I can not help but notice some similarities between the two families and how they interact: Tony being the “wiseguy” version of Homer in more ways than one. Both share a great sense of humor, bad temper, and tremendous love for their family. Carmela, on the other hand, share many of the same qualities as Marge. A parallel between the kids are obvious as well. Meadow, a highly intelligent, yet somewhat distant child, is similar to Lisa. Likewise, AJ has many qualities that Bart has although not to the extreme. They are both witty and share similar school troubles. Grandpa Simpson is like a combination of Livia and Uncle Junior. They were not exactly fun to be with, yet are very interesting and funny characters. There may be much more but I cannot think of them right now. Maybe you can help add some.
Does anyone know if David Chase ever mentioned the Simpsons as one of his influences in creating The Sopranos?
