Jack the Ripper investigation
Did anyone see the investigation that Patricia Cornwell is doing on these murders on Primetime Thursday? I was finishing up my workout and I only caught half of the story. The half I did watch I was hooked and I didn't want to leave. A modern way to investigate crimes of the path. Is she on the right track?

Interesting. I'm a fan of "Ripperology" and I would love to see the Prostitute paintings.

I saw a show on Cornwell's investigation a while ago. Upon reading your link I see that the show last night was a rerun of the show I saw in December, 2001 with a few updates.
I remember that when I saw the original show I thought Cornwell's theory was plausible but far from conclusively proved. Her team failed to come up with the smoking gun (DNA on letters sent to the police by the Ripper to compare to her suspect's).
According to the link, more recent, expensive and precise tests have come up with some similarities in mitochondrial DNA but it still is not conclusive proof (see the link for details).
If Cornwell hasn't been able to come up with conclusive proof after all the money she has spent and all the expertise she has employed, I would think we will never have a definitive, inarguable answer.

A show on Jack the Ripper was aired a few weeks ago on TLC or the Discovery channel I cant remember which one. They pretty much concluded that they knew who he was. Some guy named Kosminski. The police actually had him in custody but the eye witness putting him at the scene wouldnt testifiy. He was released and later put in a mental institution by his family.

It's easy to "stake your reputation" on a case where you've proven that DNA and any other conclusive evidence is not likely to be found. Hell, I'd stake my reputation that O.J. and Ray Lewis were indeed Jack the Ripper.

You get to know them well.
Everytime I see what he did to his "Final" victim in that room, I wonder if "jack" was even human.
The new pics of that murder scene released a couple years ago were taken from another point of view and shows a pile of flesh on the table.

He definatly was messed up. I just can't see why he "only" commited these murders. With his streak of not being caught, I imagine he would have done so many more.
