I'm a big fan of trading spaces. I've only seen Changing Rooms once, so I probably haven't seen it enough to accurately compare, but as of right now, I prefer Trading Spaces easily. With Trading Spaces, you have two rooms being remodeled, so there's more to hold your interest than the one room being remodeled in Changing Rooms.

Two rooms are remodeled in Changing Rooms.
Trading Spaces uses the exact same concept (which they got from Changing Rooms.)

The designers on Changing Rooms are cuter than the ones on Trading Spaces. For the girls, we get that lovely long-haired leather-clad Lawrence, and for the guys you get to watch Carol Smiley and her cute little Scottish Accent.
I prefer Changing Rooms simply because the designers have better ideas and actually *listen* to the ideas of the people they are working with instead of going off and deliberately creating something butt-ugly (like that straw room).
The only flaw is Changing Rooms is only a half hour. Trading Spaces is a full hour. But BBCAmerica usually shows two or three episodes in a row, so I can get my fix along with a bunch of new ideas.
I also like Ground Force, but that's a different thread.

Has anyone seen "House Invaders" on BBC AMerica yet? it has Linda Barker (one of my fave designers from "Changing Rooms"). She goes to a person's house, and uses things they have left over already: paint, fabric, etc and she quickly remodels 3 rooms in a day.
I wish I could get her to come to my house.

I chose Trading Spaces only because it is a full hour. The houses on Changing rooms are more diverse and the designers aren't afraid to make Handy Andy create some amazing constructions.
Ground Force is a great show as well, I just wish that Charlie would wear something other than the green tank top sans bra. Quit the teasing, damn you!

I want Anna Richardson (I think that's her name) to come design my livingroom. I love her designs. I also really like Graham's designs and Lawrence's tight leather pants.

Well the choice is obvious, isn't it?
I mean Trading Spaces has Frank Bielac a/k/a "the hottest daddybear on television" and Changing Rooms does not.
Case closed.
Trading Spaces by a mile.
