Invader Zim thread

Ok, well I dunno if anyone is watching this show on nick, but man, I love it. to bad it's been canned and they are just showing what is left over now.

so any talk on invader zim? ever even seen it? it's done by the creator of Johnny the Homicial Maniac comic.

Heres some little tid bits. the first episode has a deleted scene. pretty much when the tallest give zim a sandwich to reward what he thinks is doing good, the storyline had it where ZIM would be given the sandwich and was then sent through a teleporter ring. When he came out the other end of the teleporter, he was in Irken combat armor and had to fight a giant creature called the DIGESTOR in order to be allowed to be given a planet to conquer. He gave the monster the sandwich, and it ran off like a pleased child, making ZIM the victor. This part was taken out because of time constraints-- it made the episode too long, and it didn't fit into the half-hour.

here's some pictures of the whole story board.

Oh do I wish this series would have been given a chance and I sure hope a dvd would be made of it. but hey, even though I hate petitions, this is one I signed for.

I've been following this show with great enthusiasm since Nov when I found out about it. Truly hilarious. Nick's been really lousy at showing them lately unfortunately. Normally it's on 9:30 on Friday nights. Last week, I turned it on at 9:30 -- nothing. flipped by 20 minutes later and it was midway through a single story (12 minutes or so) -- "Escape from Hobo 13" IIRC, after that was over, it wasn't 10 yet, but that was it -- only half a show -- wtf!

Anyways, they normally have an hour of zim from 1-2 PM on Sundays. Better than nothing, and sometimes you still get a new episode. Can't believe they're cancelling one of the funniest shows on TV though. Crying shame.

I've got my Squee TPB now and I've got JTHM on order. When I get some more cash I'll probably pick up a Zim tshirt and gir stuffed animal too.

I love the show. It's a shame that it's canceled, but I hope that means that Jhonen will be coming up with more comics (I know I would love a bit more filler bunny ).

gir cracks me up- I loved watching him self-destruct during Dib's wonderful life of doom

I'm hoping we get a dvd of it or something.

I'm content with my copies of it, but would love to see the episodes all put together on a disc.
it's a season and a half since the second season was cut in half when they decided to cancel the show.

An Invader Zim DVD...*drool*.
It would be so great if it came out with deleted scenes and especially a commentary by Jhonen Vasquez

Sorry for the ridiculous bump, but what the hell. I picked this series up on a whim tonight (Complete Series is $17.xx at Walmart, 6 DVDs) and plan on marathoning the bastard.

Great show.

Zim is pure genius. I have yet to pick up Horrible Holiday Cheer on DVD, but I have the other two disks.

Great show.
Wow - not to get all "DVD Bargains"-y on this, but that seems like a great price. Is that the set with the house-shaped box?

It's kind of like Ren and Stimpy, in that one wonders sometimes why Viacom developed it for Nick, when it seems to be targeted at a somewhat older crowd. There's a lot of good, strange stuff in there - "Dark Harvest" comes to mind, as does the time-travel episode "Bad Bad Rubber Piggy".

Naw, this is an economy pack, slip cover with 3 DVD Cases, 2 DVDs per case. I remember watching it years ago, with one of the characters obsessing over existance and how every piece of matter had to have priorly never existed. That caught my attention (for a show geared toward kids.) just seemed really cynical and right up my alley.

But for the full series, I thought it was a pretty solid deal - impulse buy .

The House sets go for a ridiculous amount still.

The set I bought: http://entertainment.circuitcity.com...d&store=Movies

I was able to buy the house with the bonus disc for a very good price at Best Buy a year or so ago, and then I picked up the rest of the discs used pretty cheap, less than $10 a piece.

My wife and I go to sleep to it every night.

Ah, thanks - I had seen that listed at some stores with 3 discs, instead of 3 packs, so I thought it was a compilation of some kind instead of the entire series. But I see I'm veering from "DVD Bargains" into "DVD Talk", so I'll stop now
