As for Denise Crosby being unhappy about only getting to say "Hailing frequencies open" over and over---I've never understood this attitude from actors. Granted, I'm not an actor and never will be, so I'm not qualified to judge, but seriously, what's the big deal? Her job consisted of going to at a cool studio every day, pretending she was on a space ship, and taking home $40,000 or $50,000 (probably more) a week. I'm not picking specifically on her, but on any actor who demonstrates this attitude. Yes, it would get boring to say the same line over & over every week, but there are far worse jobs she could be doing....

If actors only shared your perspective, redskull.
But to play devil's advocate for a second... I work at a pretty cool place. I get paid well and don't have to work very hard. But if I had an offer to go somewhere else for more challenging work, I'd seriously consider it. And if they offered more money, I'd probably go.
I know some people would do most anything to have my job, and there are many worse ones out there. But I kind of understand Denise's desire to do something new.

The lists could go on and on of Actors and Actresses who get swelled heads, leave a show and then you dont hear much from them after that. You got the Farrahs and the David Carusos and the Suzanne Summers.
Crosby blew it and thats why she asked to come back and gave the idea of being the Romulan Character.
What else is she doing today?

I also heard that she was in Playboy and that didn't go over well with Paramount.
I don't know if that's true, I don't even know if she was really in Playboy.

Also, I didn't know she was the granddaughter of Bing Crosby!

Character developement? In Star Trek?
Now that *is* funny. Don't get me wrong, I love Trek, but they did *very* little in the way of any serious character development, that lasted maybe more than one episode. That is what I consider to be one of their biggest faults.Yes, she did pose for Playboy, but I thought she did it before Trek, but the pictures didn't come out until after. There were some guys trying to get her to autograph their Playboy's at a con once.

Yeah, there is not a lot of chacter development but I think that is because who is in charge of the franchise now and they really tend to play it safe too much. Thats why Farscape rocks.

Biz - yea DS9 did it more than TNG and TOS did it some. There was so much more they could have done though, if certain suits and such would keep their hands out of the pie.

Yes she did a playboy spread years before Trek. It was published years before trek in playboy, I remeber seeing it...just don't tell my Dad. I'm sure it was reprinted after trek also

Yeah, I think the Playboy spread was done well before Trek -- it was done because she was Bing Crosby's granddaughter.
And then, just after she was on Trek, Playboy re-ran the pictures to capitalize on her newfound fame.

Speaking of nudity,
I also remember reading that Kim Catrell (Star Trek 6) did a nude pictorial on the Bridge and Paramount wouldnt let them publish it.

As much as I enjoy naked women, I have to agree. As silly as Trek is, and as cheesecake-y as some of the women on TOS could be, they were never truly trashy. There's a fine line between sexy and showing the world your wedding tackle. I don't want it crossed on Trek.

This guy's producing a show about the future and he still lives in the twenties? Why wasn't he sued back to the stone age?
If by "something extra" you mean more emotion in a particular scene or vocal projection, then I got the wrong impression and please disregard.

Biz -
Kudama - sexual favors. And if there is no witness, it becomes he said, she said and that can cost people in that business more work. I have no idea of the "diva" or "bad attitude" behavior. Whenever I've seen her, she's been pretty cool.

Patrick did not like Diana Muldar. Season Three, Maurice Hurley is gone and Gates McFadden is back.
