I understand where you're coming from. And while I know Sam wasn't physically held against his will and to keep leaping, I got a sense that all he really wanted to do was go home, and that it was just some little part in the back of his mind that wouldn't let him. This is a guy you hoped would leap home at the end of every episode and then you find out it doesn't happen, ever! It's just a little depressing to me.

And I understand where you're coming from. :) In the end, for me, it's everything you said: all he's ever wanted is to go home, but when he finally get it, he realizes there's something more meaningful. It's a little bittersweet I guess.

Uhhh.. the war had been winding down for a whole season, espically the last ten episodes... it didn't end because of a miracle, it ended because of surrender.

Endgame was a perfect ending to Voyager. It was such a load of crap and really summed up the whole series nicley I thought.

DS9 = Metaphysical bulls#it.

Voyager = Slightly better but they didn't even give us a any scenes on Earth reuniting with loved ones.

TNG = More Timeshifting nonsense. Remember, Timeshifting/travel is crack cocaine for Trek show writers.

If I remember right, didnt the war play out over a story arch of like 8 episodes. Did you want the war to end in the 2nd part and just have them all sitting around talking about it for the next 6 episodes.
It's like a book, the story peaks and then ends towards the end of the book.

Regarding Voyager, the show was not that great but the episode was much better than a lot of the episodes. That's not saying much but...

I was really disappointed by the final episode of Third Rock. The Solomons should have really F'ed with everyone hardcore before they left.

Twin peaks really ended in a mess.

I agree it wasn't a very good finale, but considering NBC moved the show around so much and hardly anybody was still watching the show when it ended. I'm surprised they even bothered having a series finale.

I would have to say the final episode of Night Court. Utterly horrible. And that thing with Bull and the aliens? Geez.

Mork and Mindy was particularly bad as I recall. Wasn't the last image like cave drawings of them or something?

I didn't think the final Seinfeld was horrible or anything. What was horrible is that X-files had practically the same "trial" premise.

The last 8 eps were brought upon fan request to
conclude the series in a better way. aka 6th season.

Nikita probably could have left section in the end.
But to give Michael & his Son a chance away from
it all, was about any fan could ask for.
Plus it showed what humanity she still possessed.
And maybe changing section away from it ruthless past.

Its better than alot of conventional series of late.

NBC wouldn't have bothered with a series finale, but the producers realized that the show was probably not getting a renewal into the next season, so the Solomons returned home before the cancellation was announced. If the show had been picked up, they would've come back to Earth and continued. NBC really missed the ball with this show, I read that it holds the record for the most time slots, something like seventeen or eighteen.

Married with Children was bad as they get.

There was no final episode of Married with Children. Thats why Ed O'Neil said he would do no reuion show if FOX ever asked.

Can someone briefly recap what happened on the final Voyager, please? I can't say I ever really watched the show, but I'm still somewhat curious to know how it ended. (Obviously not curious enough to have actually watched it, though.) ;)

I can't say I've seen a finale that I consider really horrible. I've just been dissapointed by all of the shows which never had a intentional finale.

In the timeline that should have happened, Voyager makes it home after a long 20+ year journey and many hardships. Seven dies along the way, and of course this destroys Chakotay's life. Why? Because they forced a relationship on the characters within the last few episodes that made no sense other than to set something like this up. Robert Beltran was very vocal about hating it and finding it insulting to the viewers that he and Seven suddenly were completely in love with each other. Whatever ...

Anyway, Chakotay is miserable until his death, which inspires Janeway to travel back in time and change everything to her personal liking. She too is unhappy (boo hoo), so she gathers up a bunch of future technology, steals a catch-all "time travel" maching from some Klingons (where her morality begins and ends with this episode escapes me), and of course, travels back in time to change the past. Not only does she alter the past to fit her own liking, she uses her new technology to murder a massive Borg hub before "fixing" the past. And characters from both the past and future willingly assist her, like this quest is somehow noble.

It was insulting. It was dreadful. It was against the spirit of 35 years of <I>Star Trek</I>. And while I love <I>Star Trek</I> with all my heart, I'm afraid it can never recover from that one episode.

Man, I just read the episode synopsis at Startrek.com that goes into every minute detail of the finale and all that I can say is that it sounds like one of the worst shows ever. It's all technobable BS and das is right, it betrays everything that Star Trek was founded on. I can't believe that crap was the best they could come up with to get the crew home. sheesh. It's a good thing I stopped watching during the second season.

I really do not see why there is any doubt that Fin Vger
was the worst episode in the last 10 or so years.

It had 7 years of terrible writing. That just sunk
lower & lower, year after year.

With that said. There were one or 2 epsiodes that
were actually pretty good. Lets hope Bakula bails
before this series catches full vacuum. Or else
this one will be the next runner up.

the final episode of ROSEANNE kind of made me mad

The only memorable episode that I remember of Voyager was when the early in the series when the doctor began having hallucinations that he was real and Barclay shows up to tell him that he is real and stuck in a computer simulation. They reset the program to the pilot episode just after they were thrown to the Delta quadrant. I actually thought they should have ended the show right there. It was a hologram!

That about says it right there: the only good episodes of Voyager were "reset button" episodes: Year of Hell, Timeless, etc.

Why?
