Conan owns both of them.

Why is Leno's show always higher in the ratings than Letterman's show in the rating if 80% of this forum likes Dave's show better.

Does that show that people who write in Internet Forums like Letterman better than Leno?

Here is an article from last march that talks about the ratings for each show.

Another article showing that Leno is going to get more Ads promoting the show.

It shows that the VAST majority of Americans are idiots. We knew that though. Just look at all of the 13 mile to the gallon SUVs with plastic (plastic!!) American flags festooned upon them. Clearly critical thinking isn't an American strong point. Hell, most people can't even find the time to vote, let alone post to Internet forums.

Anyway, least this become a thread crap, I still think it's all about Dave. That is to say, given the choice between the two I'd go for Dave. Conan is the man though!

O'Brian>Mahr>Letterman>>>>>>>Kilborn>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Leno

Bill Mahr rules!

Well, I like Jay a whole lot better than Dave. I just don't find Dave funny. Jay is pretty bad at times, but on the whole I find him funnier than Dave. Neither of the two are my preference though. Conan is awesome, but Dennis Miller is the best talk show there is.

I personally would choose Conan over Letterman or Leno. Of course I missed Letterman's days as a 12:35 AM host when he probably had as much freedom as Conan.

My Other Self 06-16-02 11:20 AM

Although I feel bad for Letterman with his health problems, I can't stand the guy. I've been a huge Leno fan since the beginning, so he gets my vote. :)

Oh yeah - Conan's the man. :D

Goat3001 06-16-02 11:54 AM

DAve... then Conan :)

I'll take Dave. His show isn't as good as when Cher called him an a-hole and he dropped stuff from the roof of a 7 story building, but that's how all these shows are. They go an jags for a while that some people like and some don't. I don't think anything beats Dave working the Taco Bell Drive-Thru.

Right now, I'd agree on Conan being #1, and I hope he hosts the Emmies again because they had some great bits. Kilborne comes off as Maxim magazine for TV. I might give him another shot and record some shows now that I can see Conan on Comedy Central also.

Only thing on Leno I really enjoy is Headlines, and anybody could do that. Dave is the king of "Man-On-The-Street". He needs to get Rupert G back out there with his wire on and annnoying people again. I'm not a fan of those contests they have in the deli.

104-14 -eek-

Isn't it ironic that the only time Leno has been funny in his entire life was when he was a regular guest on Letterman.

tupacwe 10-15-02 01:25 PM

is this question even worth asking? of course it is far and away dave, although hes fell a bit, yet still leaps and bounds a head of leno, i'd love to be able to get some clips of daves monologue when he'd come out straight drunk, anyone know where to get them?

vaporware 10-15-02 01:54 PM

Conan, the only show i have on my schedule to record on Tivo.

From the choices listed above, Dave. Leno is just not funny. He's a bad interviewer.

Roto 10-15-02 04:31 PM

And as for the Nielsen ratings, Leno was never higher rated than Dave until the notorious Hugh Grant interview. I don't know how he managed to maintain a ratings lead other than NBC just having better lead-ins.
