New Battlestar Galactica!

I read an article on a Babylon 5 site yesterday that said a new script for Battlestar Galactica had been written for the Sci-Fi channel. The script was to be for a mini series that they will air. The mini series will be about the original movie and will include some of the original actors!

This is great news! something to live for!

This has been an ongoing battle between Hatch and TPTB for years. With a little research, you'll be able to find all sorts of interesting dirt on this subject.

Yep Sci-Fi Channel has a ton of new made for tv movies coming out which are kind of tryouts for new shows the following season. Like they did with Firestarter:Rekindled (coming in fall) and B5:Legend of the Rangers (which had bad ratings because it was on vs the most exciting football games in years).

But im looking forward to Battlestar, and there other movies

www.battestargalactica.com has tons of updates about this project. It has gone through several phases (including gaining -- and then losing -- Bryan Singer due to scheduling conflicts with X-Men 2).

The latest news seems to be that it is a "re-imagining" of the show. That is, starting from scratch with the same basic idea, but having no direct connection to the original program. Personally, I would have preferred a show that takes place 30 years after the original 1978 series and has some original cast members, but it seems that was not meant to be...

Here's a Q&A with the guy in charge:
