Absolutely.
We all saw what the networks could show us on that Tuesday morning and all of these amateur videos will give us a moch more personal account of what it was like for them to be at Ground Zero.
The jumpers will be very disturbing to watch, but that's what happened. We can't ever forget these things, no matter how disturbing they are.

I still haven't decided if I'll watch it. I'll probably TiVo it, and watch it sometime down the road.

Thanks for the heads up guys, I wouldn't have even heard about this if it wasn't for this thread.

Well, that was about 30 minutes of strong crying during the hour show...
My daughter was over this weekend. She's 9. And some news thing earlier today was covering it, I guess for Memorial Day. And after just seeing a couple seconds of the tail end of that story she say "I hope they build another World Trade Center." Perplexed by that response I asked her why. She replied, "Because I never got to see the first one."
I didn't know how to respond.
It makes me wonder what she knows/thinks about it but I'm not really apt to talk to her about 3,047 people losing their lives on that horrible day. I had shown her some pics I took there with my ex-girlfriend right before the 2000 New Years so she knows I've been there.

Wow... this is a very heart wrenching program (it's on now pst). Makes me think back to that morning, and everything going crazy in S.F.
Also makes me think of a co-worker who died in WTC 1. I use to talk to her weekly... really puts life into perspecitve.

out of all the things ever shown on HBO this is what I wanted to see most. I don't get HBO, but do you think that there will be a DVD release in the future? I would really like to add it to my collection

I heard on some entertainment show like ET or access hollywood. That after it was shown on Sunday and Tuesday it was going to be put in musuems around the US. So I doubt there will ever be a DVD of it. I personally thought that the 9/11 special on NBC was better. The one on HBO didn't seem very organized at all they relied heavely on the different videos sumbited by the people of NY.

I thought it was pretty well done. Karli, the reason it seemed so unorganized was for the very reason you stated...They wanted to show what happened from as many vantage points as possible. To show you what everyone saw that fateful morning. Since it was the most documented event in history. HBO had a lot to work with. There were a few views I hadn't seen before which brought the same chills back from that day.
The CBS special was a little better because they focused on the 2 brothers filming the documentary. But HBO did do a fine job and Rudy Guliani as the narrator was very good since he was right in the thick of it that day.

When they showed the impacts of the planes I got chills for the first time. When I was watching it live on television, I was just shocked, but now watching it again is more emotional. And I thought it was really well done.

I Tivo-ed it but haven't watched it yet. I'm debating on watching it.
Could somebody tell me if they used the answering machine recordings from different people? You know the ones that are like Good Bye's to family? I know it might seem strange but that's the one thing I can't deal with at all.

I found that I couldn't watch it all the way through. I keep flipping back to a hockey game convincing myself I wanted to see who would win in OT but the images just became to overbearing. The worst were the still photo of bodies plummeting to their death oppossed to burning in 2000 degree heat.
