Best SNL skit....no poll, since my other one got ugly

My alltime favorite was Bill Murray playing a overweight Hercules. I'm having issues with the transcript site, but some guy doesn't believe he's Hercules. He points to a big boulder and asks hime to pick it up. Bill says 'That boulder's too large! Perhaps if you picked a smaller one I could lift that' He picks a smaller boulder and when Bill tries to pick it up he strains his back
Also, Alec Baldwin with the sweety balls skit was great as well.

I've seen a lot of great SNL commercials listed, but I don't think anyone has mentioned the one where they are selling insurance to old people against "Robot Attacks".
Every time I see that one I roll on the floor. Hell, just thinking about it now makes me laugh.

Re: Best SNL skit....no poll, since my other one got ugly
I will have to go with the old "The Question is Moot" game show skit, with Jesse Jackson as the host (early 80s).
Contestant-“So who wins the game?”
Reverend -“The question is moot...”
Contestant-“So who wins the car??”
Reverend- “I win the car.”
Contestant- “Why do you win the car?”
Reverend- “The question is moot....”
The Buddweiser (sic) hockey commercial and "Bad Idea" jeans commercials were also great.

Re: But no one's mentioned...
Jackie Rogers Jr. $100,000 Jackpot Wad!!
"He INTRODUCES the act!"
"Chocolate babies"
-“This is a hot little spicy number....”
-“RITA MORENO!!”
One of the best skits of all time. Even the LAME & UNFUNNY Jim Belushi was a decent Captain Kangaroo.
Any Jeffrey's sketch, especially when Will Ferrel shows up.
Any Robery Goulet sketch, especially the one with a clearly high Jay-Z and the Red Ships at Sea one with Alec Baldwin.
And the classics:
The Sinatra Group--as is evidenced by my signature
Schimdt's Gay Beer ad
Happy Fun Ball
Schweaty Balls
Blue Oyster Cult/Cowbell
And I'm really enjoying the Spaceman Jones skits. Tracey Morgan really excells when he's the laid back guy who just shows up for a line or two. Nearly everything that's clearly created by him is really funny.

Also loved that Debbie Downer at Disney World skit. Rachel Dratch and cast with guest host Lindsay Lohan tried their best to not break up and laugh was so funny.

The funniest Skit for me was the Syncronize Swimming for the Olympics with Martin Short, Harry Shearer and Christopher Guest (1984-85 Season). I just remember Martin Short wore a bathing cap on his head, nose plugs and said, "I-I-I can't....swim very well...." That season is just lost in any talk of SNL these days mostly because the cast was one and done (Billy Crystal, Martin Short, etc), and that was one of the few years that Lorne Michaels was not involved, even though it was one of the best seasons, IMO.

how did I know this would be bumped by a new poster before even clicking on the thread?
a few of my favorites not mentioned are the Victoria Jackson chapstick skit where she lends someone her chapstick that keeps passing it along at a bus stop until an alien with lip sores borrows it at the end.
one other that has always stood out was Kevin Nealon as Victoria Jackson's ex boyfriend, they break up and her family dumps her instead of him.
my all time fav is the old skit where Ronald Reagan is a genius and is just pretending to be an addled old grand father type. The skit ends with him speaking Japanese as the rest of his cabinet is passed out from exhaustion.

I always liked the Tom Brady skits where he couldn't throw the ball thru the tire or The Sexual Harassment skit where it's only appropriate to harass if you're handsome.

On paper the sketch is a disaster, but what makes it so fucking hilarious is everybody breaking and trying to hide it (Sanz wiping his tears with a waffle!!).
People will say they hate the sketch because breaking (the Fallon trademark) is "the worst," but funny is funny is funny is funny.

Along those lines, I fondly recall the sketch with Will Ferrell as the doctor who accidentally 'misplaced' a couple's baby. It's OK, but nothing amazing until 4 minutes in when - as part of his plan to stall telling the parents the news - Ferrell brings in an expert: Dr Steven Poop (Tim Meadows). Dr. Poop can't do a thing about their baby, but he can do the robot and charge them $5000 for it. At that point, Molly Shannon (the mom) completely breaks character, and is joined by Will Ferrell, which is one of the very few times I can recall him doing that. Only the cybernetic organism known as Chris Parnell (the dad) doesn't break, just as I can't recall him ever breaking in a sketch...not this, not cowbell, never.

This deep cut always cracks me up when I'm reminded of it.

"Hell, I wuz juss raisin some hell!" lives on as an always at the ready excuse for just about anything amongst my long-time friends. The other line that gets me for reasons I can't explain is in the intro when Aykroyd describes Belushi's character a being "noted for his indiscriminate use of martial arts."

This week I've been remembering the parody of Dick Button announcing the figure skating. "Now the double axel ... Oh! ... That will cost her. She's going to ... Oh!"

Theodoric or York
And
Anytime Chevy was doing the news.
Even more funny to me when I was ten years old was when chase would mock
Jane behind her back while imitating whatever she was saying.
Btw this thread has me shocked that at least two great sketches are as old as they are.
The Shweddy Balls and the Spacey Star Wars auditions.
I can’t believe they weee that long ago.

I was thinking of this one for that poor Canadian skater who fell jump after jump in the ladies' free skate.
