Do you hate Rosie O'Donnell?

I voted no.
I think she's very opinionated about subjects that are close to her (adoption, gays, etc) but I'd be leery of someone who isn't passionate about subjects that are of importance to them.
She just has a very large and public platform from which to preach and she does, so I think she takes flack for that.

hate is a strong word, but she has become very annoying. she's everywhere. it's good that she's leaving her show. let her hang out in florida for a while and come back to films where she can be a very good character actress in the right films.

No. I intensely dislike what she's mutated into over the years and have explained in detail why many times on this forum. But I don't hate her as a person. How could I? I don't know her. I'd certainly like for her to shut up and go away (maybe return to legitimate acting), but hate is way too strong a word for someone I know little about.

I voted no. I don't have any problems with Rosie. I always found her show entertaining when I would tune in. Sure, she is very opinionated, but who cares, you are allowed to be opinionated and you are allowed to change your mind.

From: Bartertown due to it having a better economy than where I really live.
yes, although not quite as much after her interview with O'Reilly
her line about the hollywood elite thinking the rest of the population are nothing but serfs was dead on

I hate her because she's fat, ugly, unfunny, sanctimonious, annoying, hypocritical, obese, stupid, fascist, vomit-inducing, and has ripped off David Letterman's material for so many years that he should file and slap a class action lawsuit on her neverending a** and pump the b**ch for all she's worth.

There was a time when she was ammusing, but know she has become annoying. She is not the talent everyone thought she could be. Perhaps a quiet existence as a gay mom would be better suited for her.
BTW, why don't some of you tell us how you really feel about her?

Why yes - yes I do. And I'm the gay one around these boards.
But I'm more in the "finding-her-as-irritating-as-a-cold-sore" category.
I nearly didn't watch that Survivor 4 reunion coda just because she was the host. She is the Jar-Jar Binks of television talk shows.

:Biggest hypocrite. Blasts Tom Selleck for being pro-NRA, then doesn't mind when her kids bodyguards carry guns.

That is giving her way too much credit. I already said in the other thread that I would prefer spending the evening talking politics with Jar Jar than listen to Rosie yap away for an hour. It has nothing to with what Rosie believes in (many hate her for her politics) - her voice and appearance are simply painful to endure.

No. I don't know her. She has money and power, the plat form for which many can espouse their views. I find her much less annoying than the Pat (Robertson) and Jerry (Falwell) show.
I don't agree with everything she says, but she's no worse than anyone else who does what she does.

Like I said up in my post, I don't hate her, but that phrase alone places her one rung below those who do the same thing she does.

I dont hate her.
So far ya'll hate her because she's against the NRA, over weight, can't sing, annoying and is a lesbian. Yeah, that makes sense.
Kathy Lee Gifford used to ALWAYs talk about her two kids on her show. Kelly talks about hers, has them on her show ALL THE TIME. Regis even talks about his... and *just* showed pictures of his daughter at Notre Dame.
All I can say is that there are many and many and many of other celebrities who also fit in to these categories... Spike Lee, Melanie Griffith, Susan Sarandon, Uma Thurman, Michael Douglas, Ethan Hawke, Justin Timberlake, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Sophie Dahl, Heidi Klum, and Christy Turlington are also outspoken anti-NRA celebrities - just not as strident as Rosie. I don't see a thread about them.

"They" haven't had 3, yes 3, 2 hour primetime specials in the past 3 months.
"They" haven't banned the cast of Mad TV from their show for the horrible crime of parody, something she does herself all the time.
There are plenty of annoying people in show business. There are plenty of "cause fighters" in show business. There are plenty of annoying "cause fighters" in show business. But few, if any, have reached Rosie's level of hypocrisy, something she's slowly started admitting to in recent interviews.
More topically, "they" didn't host the reunion special for one of television's highest rated programs last night, and "they" aren't ending their television shows long run this week.

I think many of the same crowd hates Kathy Lee as well.
Who cares why you hate someone? If you hate someone, you hate someone. I can't stand her. That is reason enough for me to hate her.
I would have rather had them have someone like Richard Hatch host the Survivor special than Rosie. Rosie is one of those people you either love or hate. Let the people who love her tune into her daily program. Don't subject everyone to her by putting her on such a popular program with mass appeal simply because of the fact that she is such a huge fan. Howard Stern is a huge Survivor fan. I would love to see him host the special. I know it would never happen because of his personality. CBS should have applied the same logic by not going with Rosie.

Hi das
Im not aware that she did that for the that purpose. Is that your opinion, or is that fact??
"They" haven't had 3, yes 3, 2 hour primetime specials in the past 3 months.
hey, if networks think she's news worthy, and ask her talk, then why solely blame her for being given a platform to voice her opinions?

its her show... how is it different than Oprah not having Dave??

and that is cause to use the word HATE??? (general, not specifically you)

Hey, she's a fan, if CBS asked her to host, why the hell not??? Did she REQUEST herself to host??? I dont know. But if CBS asked, why should she decline??? What's her show ending Wednesday have to do with her hosting Survivor in the same week??

I hit the mute button whenever she was on-camera and talking.
