In MASH reunion show...
did the actor who played Trapper seem to be slightly hostile towards the actor who played BJ?
They also seemed somewhat possessive over Alan Alda?
Was Trapper John MD a spin off from Mash?

He's the Shelley Long of the '70s.
I caught him a few weeks ago on one of the business channels (he runs his own investment group, or something); here's he's getting 7-8 minutes of NATIONAL exposure, and he came off as a hard-ass there too......

Trapper John MD was a spinoff, it took place in present time (well, present time when it was airing in the 80's). They alluded to M*A*S*H a few times during the run, I remember an episode where a staff member tried to wake Trapper (played by Pernell Roberts) and a groggy Trapper called the guy Radar.
I really enjoyed the special. M*A*S*H* is one of my top 5 favorite shows and it was great listening to stories about some of the more famous episodes. It was a teeny tiny bit too self-congratulatory though.

Why did Wayne Rogers leave the show to begin with?
Why did Wayne Rogers leave the show to begin with?
In the summer of 1975, when M*A*S*H was on summer hiatus, Wayne Rogers tried to up the ante in his contract negotiations. Of course, the studio brass said no, so he walked.
Hence, when the fall came, not only did they have to deal with the absence of MacLean Stevenson, but Wayne Rogers as well.
Plus, Wayne Rogers hated how Alan Alda got the spotlight all the time.

I was curious why the reunion aired on FOX when the show aired on CBS. If I am correct, the FOX network didn't even exist yet when M*A*S*H went of the air. Could it be because 20th Century FOX owns the rights to M*A*S*H?

What a wonderful reunion special. So many specials are contrived and overly self-gratifying, but this one was really well done. The interviews with those in real MASH units were great, and you could really tell that these guys knew what they were a part of and cherished the experience. It disappoints and even saddens me that so many posters on this forum stood up and proclaimed it the most overrated show of all time. I respect that everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but sometimes I just don't understand where people coming from. M*A*S*H was such a daring and incredible show on so many levels for many years and is ingrained in the culture of those who watched it during its original run. I think this special did an excellent job identifying why so many people genuinely loved that show.

You know, when there's nothing else on I can always go to FX for M*A*S*H*.

A great reunion. The saddest part was seeing how everyone has aged.

OUCH!

But isn't the guy that played Colonel Flagg dead too. I always thought Flagg was the coolest guy on MASH. In the begining he used to play POKER with the guys then he became this nutcase when the show went in a different direction.

"I busted a gut to get up here."
"Well, if it'll make you feel better, the blues are a dime, the whites are a quarter, and the reds are 50 cents."
"Deal me in."
"Amazing. Anyone who walks in here is instantly corrupted!!"
(Flagg sits down next to Klinger)
"Hey. Up close, you're a guy."
"Far away, too."
Then John Ritter goes bananas on Frank, and Flagg pulls out his pistol and says "One bullet. That's it". Hawkeye says, "OK, just don't use the gun."

Sgt. Zelmo Zale (Johnny Haymer) has also passed away.

I missed this special and wondered if anyone knew of a site to download it, or if anyone still has it recorded that could send it to me (I'll pay expenses, of course!)
Thanks!
Thanks!
