Originally posted by Jim in Cincy True, but choosing rocks was the most random way of getting "voted" off. I still say he shouldn't have been forced to make the decision. Oh well; life goes on. Nighty night all. das |
The producers should not have put Paschal into the "grab a rock in the bag" tie-breaker with Neleh and Kathy, it cheapens the intrgrity of the game, going from Outplay/Outwit/Outlast to Outluck. Total BS. Or as the newscaster in Atlanta said, "That stupid purple rock."

Good grief, Vee played the Halle Berry card. Geez!

Survivor 5 will be in Thailand during the monsoon season, with a twist at the start of the game.

FINALLY!!!! <B>FINALLY!!!!!!</B> <I>Survivor</I>'s long history of racism has been ended by V. You go, girl! Now people of color everywhere have a chance.

Wow! After eating some snake-like jellyworms, each Survivor got a Saturn Vue SUV.
|
What made someone like Peter deserve a VUE? That was a bit overboard.
Cheapens the "game" for me. Now Shaun has two to drive around in "the hood". |

My favorite part of this evening is now those of us in Atlanta are bombarded by the worst television news program in the country. I hope CBS realizes part of the reason I rarely watch their network is the annoying local news program.

Way to go, Jeff. On our local news program, he's pointing out to the idiot reporter the logic behind the drawing. I'm glad he defended it instead of backing off. He said the same thing I did. Paschal could have avoided the entire situation, but he <I>chose</I> to have the decision up to random choice.

Did they show how each person voted? I stupidly just Tivo'd the normal 2-hour finale, not realizing the winner wasn't actually announced until the 1 hour reunion show. So I missed the first half of the reunion. The 3 they didn't show were Kathy, General, Tammy. How did those 3 people vote?

Why do people complain about drawing for rocks, and yet no one complained when CBS shook up the tribes for ratings these past two seasons.
|
I didn't think the drawing rocks was a bad idea becuase it could've been avoided if Paschal decided to break his alliance

Tammy looked so damn hot while on the jury and tonight.

Rich from survivor is the ultimate master. We all should give him his 'props". Didn't he say Vee would win it all in the very beginning?

Anyone else notice how in the immunity challenge where they ask about the survivors already voted off that 2 of the questions were about Sean? Were there any other person asked about more than once? Seems somewhat slanted toward Vee, I tend to think.

I can't believe V won. :(
She was the last person I wanted to see win. She was lazy and jumped back and forth between alliances. I wanted Kathy or Paschal to win, at least they worked hard. I'd love to know who Robert, Tammy & Kathy voted for. I can't believe that Kathy would vote for V after she stabbed her in the back. Neither one of the two deserved to win. It was funny when Jeff asked them both why they think they deserved to win, neither one really gave a reason why. How could they ? :) Neleh was part of the original Rotu, the 5 Rotu jury members should have voted for her instead of V. But 3 out of 5 of them voted for V. Why ? She didn't deserve it more than Neleh and she was more dishonest than Neleh was. Rosie makes me sick they way she was pretending to enjoy getting a rid from Colby. She was probably wishing Colby was Susan Hawk. We didn't hear anything from Peter, Patricia and Gina. Rob sounded like a moron. Sarah looked g(.)(.)d ! I think this group had it the easiest of the 4 Survivor shows. The weather was great. I don't remember seeing it rain once. They had a lot of food available and had a beautiful waterfall. Contrast that with Africa where they were living in the middle of a desert with one tree and a mud hole for water doing a lot of really physical challenges. The worst part about S4 was the fact that Sean & V made race THE issue. Talking about slavery when asked to help out, saying "hood", "brother" and "sister" every other word and getting mad when everyone knew they were an alliance because they were both black then denying they had an alliance at all. In the end they showed their true colors (no pun intended :)) |

For those wanting a recap:
here's a mini-recap: Down the final 4. The immunity challenge was "fallen comrades" where Jeff asks them questions on the other survivors. Before the immunity challenge, back at camp, K/P/N are trying to recall the details for the rest of the cast. V has been keeping a notebook of all of the facts that she's gathered along the way on each survivor, and V was not sharing any of that info with K/P/N, and even tried to mislead them into remembering wrong facts. The group makes it to the immunity challenge at tribal council. The first one to 10 points wins. At the final question, V and N had 9 points, while K and P had 8 points. The final question asked what branch of the armed service did John serve has a nurse. I knew this, and so did V. It was the Air Force. The others all answered Army. So V won immunity. The vote was to commence, and Jeff again asked if any bartering of immunity needed to be discussed. K offered V a deal to get her into a tie-break situation if V would simply vote for the same person that Kathy would to even up the odds since N and P would both vote for K. (I think K would in return offer to take V to the final 2 if K won immunity in the next round). K just wanted to get into the tie-break and let the chips fall where they may. K pissed off P for speaking for him by saying that P was in bad health and needed to be sent home, so K's plan to get P in a tie break didn't go over well. So it wound up with V and K voting for N to force the tie-break. Jeff then offered each person to make their case why they should stay, but it was still deadlocked, so Jeff offered to P, K, and N to try and come up with a unanimous choice to get the boot, but no one wanted to go out voluntarily, or things would be settle via chance. This is where the game took on somewhat a controversial move, Jeff put 3 rocks into a bag, 2 were yellow, 1 was purple. Each survivor would stick their hand in the bag and pick a rock. The one who grabbed the purple would be put out of the game. The controvery (IMHO) was due to the producer making P become a participant in this (seems to be the tie-breaker should be among only K and N). Anyhow, P unfortunately got stuck with the purple rock and was given the boot. P actually rolled off his seat when he saw that he'd gotten the purple rock (he kept saying that the rock felt 'purple'). So it was down to 3: V, K, and N. They went back to camp, spent the night there. Then 3 a.m. Jeff shows up and gets them to build a rafy/canoe, and the women set for the location that Jeff told them to get to. The women are directed to walk through a path which has posts representing their fallen comrades. You see the women getting all weepy-eyed when they pass the post of those they shared a bond. Blech. Finally they arrive at some Marquesian place where each woman draws "tattoos" on their arms and legs, and then they take a bath in some yellowish stuff. V and K joke alot about going to the final 2, and N is really pissed at the 2 women. It strengthens N's resolve to win the next immunity challenge. Then it's time for the last immunity challenge. Each woman had to stand on 2 stumps, and keep one hand on a larger idol. The woman that outlasted the other 2 would gain immunity. After 4 hours, K slipped (N had pointed out to K that her shirt was exposing too much of her breast, and K instinctively covered up, and lost her balance, so K was out of the contest. Almost immediately V offered N a deal: V quits the contest if N promises to take her to the final 2. N agrees to the deal, and K is toast. K was rather perturbed by V's deal cutting, K thought they were in it for the long haul, but once K was out, K had nothing to offer V, so V made a newer, more advantageous deal (plus N would have taken V over K to the finals anyhow). K has only herself to blame for not getting into the final 2. P passed out and was taken to a hospital. He missed seeing K get the boot. But was caught up to speed later. V and N spend a day together. They are simply nauseating. At the final tribal council, the jury get to ask questions or make statements. Read my comments earlier in this thread. In a nutshell, Tammy called both women religious hypocrits (but she was mad because they were there, and she was on the jury), John challenged their integrity and asked why he should give them his vote, Sean was all lovey-dovey, so was Paschal. Zoe kept on the high road. Robert was still bitter and didn't like V's answer to his question. Kathy was still bitter about her ouster. The jury votes, and Jeff grabs the votes and flies off in a helicopter. Then the show begins in New York City's central park. and it's revealed that V wins by a 4-3 vote (Kathy casted the deciding vote for V). The other Rotu members let N down as well, but they had reason to be bitter when N orchestrated the ouster of the Rotu-4. That's about it, except for a stroll down memory lane on memorable video clips of most of the cast members. Read my previous posts for comments on these clips. |
