Simpsons 5/5

chalk board opening - "I will never lie about being cancelled again."

BRILLIANT!

conscience 05-05-02 07:10 PM

I fell to the floor  while the music played and Homer backed all the way from the Kwik-E-Mart to his bedroom.

Little things like this is what makes The Simpsons one of the best shows on television.

Tuan Jim 05-05-02 07:30 PM

"You're such a Brahma queen." ;p

Also all the Krusty bits were great.

The_Greek 05-05-02 07:30 PM

Mmmmm...caramel bologna.

JohnPhoenix 05-05-02 08:08 PM

the giant spider during the civil war re-enactment was hillarious.

Oh the in-acuracies!

Disco Stu on rollerblades

North vs. South vs. East.

I could go on.. truly a great episode!

spainlinx0 05-05-02 11:24 PM

Come on no fans of "you can run, but you can't glide."
Or, how bout "they better or else, pow pow pow"
( I didn't know how to spell the sound, so I just used pow, pow, pow)

madcougar 05-06-02 12:11 AM

Another solid episode.

Chalkboard gag was priceless.

Gdrlv 05-06-02 12:40 AM

Not a classic episode...but a very good one.

"ohhh squishy lady..you've had less than 8 kids haven't you...ooohhh..havent you!"

Great line.

Wag The Frog 05-06-02 12:46 AM

The show is going to set a record this season for the greatest number of self-references and insider jokes in TV history.

very funny shows. the spyder vehicle made by prof. fink was hilarious, was that meant to poke fun @ the new spyder-man movie??

Exactly. This episode had so much going for it and it followed through on every one. [Starting with the chalkboard...]
[ALthough...what's up with Barney? Either get on the wagon or stay off! :rotfl: ]

It was a reference to Wild Wild West.

I cracked up when Homer walked backwards the first time.

When he jumped backwards on the ladder and you could hear the stair thumps over the credits . . . man, there have been very few times the Simpsons has made me laugh that hard. And I love the show.

I wish they'd have Barney fall off the wagon. He was much funnier as a lush.

"No, that's the stage we call Professor Barney."

BigDave 05-06-02 08:48 AM

Homer: "I'm going to go get the shuttle-cock."

That whole scene was rotfl.

the aftermath 05-06-02 09:05 AM

Best episode in a while.. That was really funny mateial

Speaking of The Simpsons, Dan Castellaneta was on a local rock station this morning. He was just answering questions about the process of the show and he did a couple voices too. No word on whether there'll be a Simpsons movie yet though =\

Neush 05-06-02 02:27 PM

"Stonewall Jackson! Stop rollerblading!"

Canis Firebrand 05-06-02 02:42 PM

Great episode.

My favorite line is the one that everyone probably got sick of in all the promos for the show..

But when I actually heard it in the episode, it had me rolling.

"Scracth and win!"

And of course the whole badmitton game. rotfl

slop101 05-06-02 03:21 PM

I loved the new lawyer character - he was no replacement for Phil Hartman's Lionel Hutz - but he was funny nonetheless.

Does anyone remeber some of his lines verbatim?

mllefoo 05-06-02 03:23 PM

Something about Comic Book Guy pouring nacho cheese over donuts had me laughing.

Sessa17 05-06-02 04:42 PM

Can't believe nobody posted my favorite line in the episode.

"Is anyone in the mood for some penis"

Tanaraq 05-06-02 04:53 PM

My personal favourite of the night was...

MMMMmmmmmmm....That's good adultery!!

Great episode all around.
