These one-hit wonder and "Where are they now" type shows are notoriously inaccurate. I often tune in to see what they'll have to say about one of my favorites, Gary Numan. He's always described as "after the international success of 'Cars', Gary retired from show business and pursued his love of flying". That was true from about 1981-1982, but the man has had 23 top 40 singles in the U.K. and is about to release his 19th(!) studio album. They NEVER mention any of that (it would kind of deflate their whole "one-hit wonder" slam).
A-ha had several songs in the U.S. charts. Besides those mentioned above, there was also "I'll Be Losing You" and "Cry Wolf" from their second album, as well as "Living Daylights". (Their new album hits the streets this week, btw.) I think the geniuses who come up with these lists go by one criterion - "Who do I think is a one-hit wonder?" The facts, apparently, are irrelevent.

hate anything or anyone more than them. VH-1 used to be
a fairly decent channel (does anyone remember "Four on the
Floor"?) Now? They run the most repetitive crap I've ever seen.
And you are so right about their "Where Are They Now?" show.
They actually did a spotlight on both the Cure AND Depeche Mode
on that show (separate episodes). Um, HELLO!?? Neither band
have stopped working or have gone off the radar. True,
Depeche Mode take longer now between albums. And they
lost one member of the band. But they never called it quits.
And when DM was featured on the show, VH-1 stopped right after
their "Songs of Faith and Devotion" album and said "So where
are they now.....?" And then REPORTED that they were currently
doing a greatest hits tour (at the time). Completely overlooking
another full length album they did in between ("Ultra"). That was
a Top 10 hit in every single country in the world. And sold over 5
million copies worldwide. Where are they now indeed VH-1.
Well done! Where are your researchers heads !??

we will just have to tune in to find out and then complain from there.
When it airs at 10 each night, can somebody post the results after the broadcast.

Right Said Fred also had a second single: "Dont Talk Just Kiss"
I cant wait to here the new A-Ha since I really liked their sixth album release from 2000: "Minor Earth Major Sky"

Here's the number of 1-hit wonders broken down to every five years:
'66 to '70: 4
'71 to '75: 9
'76 to '80: 17
'80 to '84: 29
'85 to '89: 15
'90 to '95: 17
'96 to '00: 9
Looks like almost half of them (44%) came from the 80's

Twisted Sister had a big song/video "I Wanna Rock" where the guy from Animal House asks Dee "What do you want to do with your life?" while spittin' all over the place.

It's too bad radio played to death the Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony" considering on the album there was also "Lucky Man", "The Drugs Dont Work" and "Sonnet" (the first two actually released in the UK as singles.)

Well, as we all suspected (and predicted) at least half of this list had other Top 40 hits. So much for that "one hit wonder" label! God I hate VH-1. Shouldn't they be airing that Shania Twain "Behind the Music"? AGAIN!

They had the same guy in their "We're not gonna take it anymore" video also.

I wouldn't think of Dire Straits as a one hit wonder as they are a staple of classic rock stations (Lady Writer, Sultans of Swing, Down to the Waterline, etc.)
Reading the responses on this board in defense of them, one would think A-Ha is the biggest band in the world. Where is the support of Taco? I'm sure he's still big somewhere in the world

well, unfortunatly
I think there logic is that if the second single does not top the first single, then they are a one hit wonder.
Spoiler:
