The Shield renewed
13 new episodes were picked up, with shooting beginning in the fall and the new episodes airing in January.
So that's what... six months with no Shield?Oh well, I made it through the wait for OZ before, I guess I can make it through this.

Just think ... The Shield will be in it's 5th season before we see The Sopranos again.
Seriously, this is good news. While not the best new show this season, it's certainly the most daring, and for that, I'm thrilled to see it returning.

Thanks for the good news Pac-Rat, I love this show and was afraid that it might not be picked up because most of my favorite TV shows in the past never make it.
Groucho, have you checked to see when it's re-run as I usually never catch the original airing for the week, as it conflicts w/ my current schedule. Check TV Guide.com and do a search to find an airing time that suits your schedule.

Generally, if it's shown at 10:00/11:00 on a given day, it will be replayed a few hours later at 1:00 or 2:00am.

Looks like everyone has stopped watching the Shield? Decent ep last night, except for the part when Dutch goes to the fortune teller. Pretty predictable though when Mackey busted the **** cop, you just knew he would fing a way out of being prosecuted.

I watched it, but didn't think to start another thread since it doesn't normally get any posts till the next day, so I thought someone else would do it ;p -- nobody ever responded to my insomniac/travel sick thread either.
Anyways, I thought it was a pretty good episode overall. The Dutch side story was pretty weak IMO. Woulda rather seen them try to tackle nutty Armenian dude instead, they've got more leads on him.
Anyone else think Mackey's character has softened some since episode 1? I mean heck -- the very first show he
and now he's going all soft on the actual criminals. Maybe it's just me or maybe it's the cases. At any rate, you know the investigation isn't going to go anywhere, it's only 1/2 way through the first season, and it's been picked up for a second already.

Yes Mackey seems to be going soft, however he still has moments of rage. I like the way they are playing it; unpredictable.
Also his kids autism seems to have the character softening a bit. Lets see more of the dispatcher, what a babe!

Ok,is it just me or is that female cop hot??????
Catherine Dent or something like that...
I like the Julian / Vic side-story.... I'm watching the last minute or two of last week's episode (uncomfortably), and how it ended with Vic walking in, I was like Oh man, that has to suck.......
*awesome* show...
