South Park (4/10)

Oh My God! They
Spoiler:
fired Butters! You b@stards!

Jeremy517 04-11-02 03:12 AM

Ugh
Spoiler:
Tweak

I didn't think the episode was funny, but I was still interested. I suppose it was mostly because I wanted to see who they picked.

Thank goodness they didn't pick
Spoiler:
Jimmy, Timmy, Towlie, or Pip

the narrator 04-11-02 03:15 AM

I didn't care for this episode all that much. It just wasn't very funny to me. At least I remembered to tune in this week though.

Spiderbite 04-11-02 06:36 AM

Pretty weak episode. Unfortunately they picked the most obnoxious character to fill Butters' position. Hopefully this is just a gag & Butters in back with them in the coming episodes.

Jason 04-11-02 08:14 AM

Tweek's one of my favorite characters. I often feel about like he does. Arrh! I think he's going to get old faster than Butters would have, though.

I'm just glad they didn't pick Jimmy.

Red Dog 04-11-02 09:27 AM

I liked the rip-off of style of The Bachelor.

I liked this one better than the Russell Crowe episode.

icondude 04-11-02 09:30 AM

The only good part of this episode was when everyone in the stadium took off their clothes.

Gdrlv 04-11-02 10:41 AM

I kinda liked the Butters subplot...they'd better not get rid of him for Tweek.

slop101 04-11-02 11:32 AM

I tried to catch this last night... and it wasn't on.

Did they change the time? It used to be on at 10 on Wednesdays, but now they had the daily show on instead. It wasn't on later. Was it on earlier?

I'm on the west coast, BTW.

I'm also on the west coast, and it was on at 10 here. Daily Show came on at its usual time...

I guess my Comedy Central station is an hour ahead, now. Which means that South Park was on at 9.

How would this happen?

Spiderbite 04-11-02 11:55 AM

I think they should have picked Token. He could be a decent character if they fleshed him out a bit. Can you imagine all the racial humor that could have come from that? Probably would have been too risky.

Did you adjust your clock on Sunday for daylight savings?

C'mon, give me some credit. I adjusted all my clocks Saturday night and it was already Wednesday, I'm not retarded.

Maybe it has somthing to do with the satelite. I have Direct-TV.

Blaster1 04-11-02 03:33 PM

I thought it was funny:) Butters kept doing all those things that he thought were so horrible, but really weren't like switching people's food orders. I thought that was funny. Jimmy sucking up to the guys to get picked was funny to me:)At the end I thought it was going to be a 2 part episode, then all of a sudden they told everything that happens at once:)

darkside 04-11-02 03:43 PM

I thought it was a pretty funny episode. Of course for some strange reason I think a pot smoking towel is funny. Killing of the teacher at the end for no reason was a great touch.

I have a DirecTiVo, set to record South Park every Wednesday at 10pm (manual recording to avoid reruns). It has another daily manual recording at 11pm for The Daily Show.

It functioned flawlessly last night, as always :D

icondude 04-12-02 09:43 AM

This episode doesn't compare to the veal episode a couple of weeks earlier. I mean how can you top this:

What episode is that picture from?
I never saw it, and I thought I saw all of the season 6 eps...

It's still possible that it IS a 2-parter and they simply showed us some of what's going to happen next week. If that's the case, I'm hoping that Butters does something really terrible which impresses Stan, Kyle and Eric so much that they invite him back.

It is a repeat next week.

Or perhaps you were tuned to an Eastern feed and South Park was on at 7 PM.

That's not it, because the shows are ahead by one hour, not three.
