Ed 4/3/02
Timothy Busfield shows up as Ed's "wanderlust" brother.
The 3 stories ranged from a bit creepy (Nan's internet chat buddy turns out to be a 13 year old), to sad (Warren getting almost used in a scavenger hunt) to deranged (Ed's brother convinces Ed to convert Stuckeybowl into a nightclub/bowling joint).
What say you, fans of Ed?

That Internet kid cracked me up.
So, about how much did Ed sink into renovating the bowling alley? It'll revert back to the old Stuckeybowl next week. Man, that's probably a lot of dough. But, hey, it's fictional show.
And Warren almost got some from a total hottie!

i was kinda just so so about this week until the last 10 minutes or so. when ed came to the alley to find his brother leaving, i loved how he didn't say i told you so or anything like that he just went along with it knowing that it was really hard for his brother.

The Cheswick/Diane story just cheesed me off. Sure it was aparently obvious to everyone watching that it would head down this path, but it has never in anyway ever been broached until all of a sudden its there. That's just lazy writing.
And if Stuckey Bowl is back to normal next week, that'll make me angry.
I missed the whole preview for next weeks episode, but was that Sally Wheeler of the completely underrated comedy, Two of a Kind, in next week's episode.

I think scavenger girl was good-looking. She wasn't Carol-in-that-sweater hot, but she was good-looking.
Diane was so adorable in that last scene with her and Mark & Cheswick... opens with her smiling, reading her book. Cute. And her loud "WHAT?" as a contrast to Mark & Cheswick whispering in the quiet classroom was hilarious. Speaking of Mark, when the hell did he become the Voice Of Reason?
Timothy Busfield was channeling all the bad parts of Chris Farley. And I think it'll be so ridiculous if Strikes is gone next week and Stuckeybowl is back. Ed made such a big deal about the cost of the sign (understandably)... if money is tight, and it probably cost a heck of a lot to transform Stuckeybowl to Strikes, how much will it cost to get rid of it all?

static,
with regards to next week's episode, i was thinking the same thing. it seems like there have been too many attempts this year at 'drama' on ed. they need to stick with the fun stuff.

"Um yeah, I just took off and went to Home Depot...... Yeah, I had this urge to just buy a whole crapload of lumber, you know?"
I thought Warren was hilarious this week. The internet kid cracked me up too. Compared to the rest of this season, I'd say this episode was a high point.

What was their reply when Shirley noted that Lloyd and Ed looked nothing alike? I missed that tidbit of dialog. They both do share the same eye color, though. (Maybe Ed takes after their father's side, and Lloyd takes after their mom's side).

Lloyd said something to the effect that when they were younger, for about a week he had Ed believing he was adopted.

I find it a bit unlikely that Mark would coax Warren into going after Diane. Right now they're somewhat of a trio, but if Warren and Diane get together, Mark will be nothing more than the third wheel. He's risking his close relationship with Warren.
Honk!
Honk!
