24 - 4/2

Huh. That's sort of neat... the whole "24 - 4/2" thing. Anyways.

This is the longest day of Jack Bauer's life, but I can't get enough. Sorry, Jack! Discuss tonight's episode here.

Re: 24 - 4/2

I'm getting very tired of the Teri/Kim story lines.

It's like they just don't know what to do with them anymore. If that was the case, they should have just basically written them off.

The entire Teri-amnesia thing is just dumb, and I want to kill Kim myself. Is she some sort of 'tard or something?

if the real govt is like CTU we're all screwed. this place has more drama than melrose place. everyone hates jack except for jamie and nina. jamie was a mole and nina slept with jack. these people are the most unprofesional folk i've seen. noone seems to follow orders. they all think they can air their personal problems whereever they want. but anyway....

bauer's wife probably set up the hit on the doctor...maybe they'll put her away

and maybe dan' brother will kill kim, we can only hope

I know madcougar. They blew the perfect opportunity to kill of Kim too..

It's been suggested before, but Palmer's wife really seems to have her days numbered.. Or should I say hours

Anyway, I don't know whether or not my already built up love for the show has blinded me, but I really enjoyed the show tonight. 24 has become the only show that nothing stops me from seeing every week

First, I still really like this show. I'd still say it is the best show on television. I can even handle the lame "amnesia" storyline, though barely.

What I cannot get by is the Kim/Rick subplot.

"C'mon Rick. You're smart, good looking, and funny." When the hell has he been smart? When the hell has he been funny? And has she completely forgotten that because of Rick and his dumb*** friend, her best friend is dead(Or, to her knowledge, laying in a hospital bed near dead?) and her mom has been raped?

Fortunately the Palmer subplot has heated up to neutralize the stupidity of this lame scenario.

I hate stupid people and Kim was certainly only one of those today. She had one moment of insight when she said it was too dangerous to go back to her home, but besides that it was really stupid to come to Rick's place anyway and then NOT leave when he told her to! Besides why the hell doesn't she just pick up the phone and dial 911. She doesn't even have to speak, just dial 911 and leave it off the hook; the police come looking for u then. Or better yet, call 911 and say 'Officer down'; the cops will be there in 2 secs! Also Teri is really pissing me off with this amnesia thing....... why the hell doesn't she want to go to the hospital? She's acting like a spoiled child. As for that whole Hanlin subplot and him shooting the guy, what a ****ing moron! He better lose his job and be sent to jail for that stunt. Unprofessional! But once again, Jack and the Palmer subplot (which I found really interesting) saves the day. Love this show despite all I said above!

When did Kim become a crappy motivational speaker? And why does Dan's brother want her to stick around?! Does this seem horribly contrived to anyone else? They're going to be doing a drug deal! I don't know the finer points of dealing X, but wouldn't you want to have as few people around as possible?

Maybe Teri doesn't want to go to a hospital because that was the last place she was before everything went to hell again (the safehouse was attacked, she thinks her daughter was killed, etc.). And yeah, I bet her doctor friend wanted to examine her right there.

Mason (Xander Berkeley) and Tony together was great. You go, Tony! Fight for your right to party! And Mason's closing snipe by imitating Tony was hilarious.

And CTU can't hire better help than Hanlin? Geez. I would think that someone with such little control over their emotions and actions is the LAST person you want on sniper overwatch.'

Lady Macbeth... er, I mean, Palmer's wife... has got to go. I'm glad Palmer finally found the jar that she had put his balls in.

das, you'll be proud of me... I didn't watch the previews. So I have no idea what's going on in the next episode! This is cool! My predictions:

- Palmer holds the press conference... about what, I don't know.
- TerrorDude at the Palmer house kills Dr. Friendly, but somehow Teri escapes, like she always does.
- Kiefer and pals try to figure out what was so important about the grid RedCap wanted to shut down, and why that time was so important.
- Kim acts like a moron. Rick follows her lead.

24 good!

i watched the preview...they didnt show much, or if they did i didnt catch it. they showed a few things you'd expect to happen, but not in as much detail as your guesses. but nothing that'd give away the plot

The episode was not bad tonight, but I'm with you on Kim and Teri. Teri's amnesia is (yawn), and Kim needs to be put out of her misery, or they just need to have her on the show walk around in a bikini the whole time without talking, because the more she talks the more stupid she sounds. What did she expect to find when she got to Rick's, him there naked in bed so they can do it because she's fallen for him. Sheesh...

Oh well, I didn't watch the previews for next week either, so I'll have to wait and see what happens.

Well said Static Cling.

Does anyone here cares about what happens to anyone on the show? I think that's what "24" is lacking now.

When you put characters back in danger, it helps if the viewer gives a damn and cares what happens to them. The way the writers are now handling Teri and Kim, (and others), I wish they'd just kill them off or write them out of the storyline.

Do I care if the assassin kills Teri?

Do I care if Dan's Brother kills Kim?

Do I care if Palmer lives or dies?

Do I care what happens to Palmer's Son?

Etc Etc.

With all that said, I still love this series.

Oh and do I care that Nina's not getting enough screen time? Hell Yeah !!

I know bit** slaps should be reserved for crack-hoes, but I was so ready for Palmer to go ahead and give one to his wife after the tape stealing incident.

The Palmer plot is good again. The Jack Plot is heating back up. Teri's plot was bad, then it was almost good, then it was bad again. And Kim. Kim Kim Kim. I swear she is the stupidist character ever on a TV Drama. She'd even make most sitcom ditzy blonde sterotypes seem like Harvard grads.

Let me get this straight. I'm Dan's brother. I have an illegal deal involving lots of money going down in an hour. Some girl that I don't know is at the house. And I force her to stay? Thats like saying 'Hey Mr Undercover cop, please hang around and watch my drug deal.' And she refused to leave in the first place! She goes to her kidnapper's house(also an accomplice to the murder of her best friend), he tells her to leave, and she threatens to call the cops? Then she tells some Oprah-esque story about a kid in a foster home? Kim's been kidnapped, best friend killed, mom raped, chased by killers, and she's lecturing Rick out how he screwed HIS life up. Please Please Please let her die next week.

I got frustrated watching this week's episode. I'm getting that "they're stalling" feeling as they cruise through a few more hours/episodes before they wind it up in the last 3 shows of the season. The sniper agent who hates Jack - why would he shoot when he knows it'll get him in the same hot water his former partner got into? Plain stupid writing for the sake of the plot, so Jack spends another hour cleaning up more of his messes (he's 2 for 2 in the past couple of hours).

It appears that both Teri and Palmer got haircuts in the last hour.

The "let's use Dan's brother to keep Kim grounded" plotline was stupid.

I'm almost rooting for Teri to get offed by the Drazen hitman. Both her and Kim are just aggravating to watch in their current storyline. It also seems like filler material.

But I'll hang around for the final 6 shows.

This week's show was the first one where I was actually in disbelief, I mean.. the amnesia of the wife plus her incredibly unexplainable fear of hospitals, coupled with the daughter falling in love with her kidnapper and *then* being detained by some random guy.. At least the rest of the show seems to be going along..
Spoiler:
Wonder what the power outage will be used for..

You have learned well. I fear, however, that by the time the previews for next week air, my eyes have rolled so far into the back of my head that I cannot see them. I've been bitching about how contrived the storylines are, and this week was no different. I'm at the point where I'm only watching the show so I'm not left out when everyone makes fun of it at work the next morning.

My one big question after last night's episode is - what sort of TRAINING do these CTU agents receive before being sent out into the field? I mean, seriously, what is the body count on their agents after this episode?

It was bad enough that ALL TEN PLUS agents were killed guarding the safe house (say WHAT?!?!), but now this new agent sent to watch the Bauer's house is trolling around the place with this walkie-talkie talking into it at full volume "All clear at the Bauer residence". No wonder he got shot! If this and the idiot sniper are the caliber of the agents in CTU, perhaps the SHOULD shut down the agency... as it seems to provide and rely on the stupid with weapons.

I know that this is probably not possible, but I did think it was cool when they patched Mason into the comm link for the sting so he could chew out Hanlin. Even if the character is an ass, Xander Berkley rules!

I predict that Palmer's wife bites it by the end - I might go as far as saying she indeed DOES a Lady Macbeth descent into madness and tries to kill Palmer herself before the news conference and gets shot in the process. She is worse than all the other women combined - she has annoyed me since word one came out of her mouth. Now that Palmer knows her for the snake she is, I don't expect her to last the rest of the day.

Now - the ONE tidbit we learned from this episode is about the downing of the power grid. Sounds like a set up for an awesome showdown-type sequence of sorts (also notice how it is scheduled to happen at like 8:45p and not on the hour to help cap off an episode with a cliffhanger?). Cool!

Btw, if you find you're tired of saying "CTU Agents" just call them "red shirts" like we do here at the office. It's easier to say and more accurate.

He's also the cop who gets his ear chopped off by Michael Madsen in Reservoir Dogs.

You're right! He's a lot younger in that movie, so I didn't make the connection, but WOW! Cool beans!

Gee das, that is pretty sad. I haven't done that for a show which I patently disliked since The Dukes of Hazzard when I was in THE THIRD GRADE!

Yeah, but while Mason was on the comm link with Hanlin (with Bauer listening), Mason said "we've lost enough agents today". Why didn't Jack pick up on that? He's constantly worried about Terri and Kim, he would have gone on red alert when he heard that other agents had been "lost". How long are they going to keep Jack in the dark about that?

I agree with those of you who want Kim and/or Teri dead, dead, dead.

That sums up what I'm thinking pretty well. As annoying as Teri's amnesia and Kim's stupidity is, Palmer's wife grates on my nerves more than anything in this show. I keep waiting for this to be some kind of Total Recall or Antitrust story line where she was hired to go after Palmer(of course, 20 years is a little long to be the fake wife). I kind of expected Rick's girlfriend or whatever to take Kim out.

The sniper guy just added to my thought that Mason is setting Jack up to fail.

Well it's finally Miller Time on 24 and unfortunately Jack is no where near a Happy Hour.

I was also wondering why Kim said Rick was "funny" but then he cracked me up when he said "Why don't you go to Todd's house then!?!" Ah, So he is funny.

So no one at CTU seems that concerned that all their agents are down at the safehouse and Teri and Kim are missing.

Palmer was finally revealed to be a Democrat in this episode. I don't believe they've mentioned his party affiliation before.

I got a kick out of the world's most un-professional CTU sniper. That guy was a riot! After he gets fired, he has a real career as a comedy club heckler.

I'd pretty much assumed Palmer was a democrat.
