why didnt the writers kill kim when they had the chance? i know there is supposedly that complex where kidnap victims fall in love with their kidnappers, but come on.

I liked the idea of the wife with some other guy sub-plot ...
they can do a lot with that. Hopefully, it will turn out that Terri had an affair with him before she separated with Jack ... that would be great!
I'm still upset with the amnesia ploy ... what a hack of a cheesy ploy if there ever was one. Ever meet anyone that ever got total amnesia ..... please ....
It would also have been better if they just fell the hill .. in the car .... getting thrown from the car is another hack of a ploy ... also the front tire slipping in the dirt ... that tire gives way and the whole body gets caught on the dirt .... no way does it fall down the hill .... sorry I know that was last week ... I just had to vent cause I didn't get to say my peace ...
The girl knifing the bad guy ... she is going to get her revenge anyway ... just seemed implausible to me and my wife ... I know it sets things up well for next week ... but how you get from point a to point b does matter .. this just was kind of shoddy .... what does she have in her hands ... gasp! Weak.

Amnesia plot was cheesy.
The whole Dreizen plot seemed too fake; I didn't get why she just snapped like that. And that phone call - can you say deus ex machina
The show's still cool though.

I'm just mad that they telegraphed the stabbing in last week's previews. I would've been really shocked if they hadn't made a big deal of it last week. Stupid previews. Half of me wants to quit watching them, and half of me can't wait to see what's going to happen next week.
Didn't see the wife-with-the-guy-who's-not-Jack thing coming at all... I figured it was one of the Bauers' hang-outs.
AAAAARGH... I still can't believe they telegraphed the stabbing! It would've felt like so much better of an episode if I hadn't known from last week that planting the tracking device was going to get screwed up. That was pretty much the whole point of this episode, and they crapped it away seven days ago!
I'm not sure where it's going to go from now, though... Jack doesn't know who he's going to meet or why, Kim doesn't know where to turn, Teri doesn't know who she is, and SmartDrayzen doesn't know that his brother is dead/dying/messed-up. Thank goodness the previews didn't totally blow the surprise for once!

OK, HATE the Kim subplot--how stupid is this girl?
HATE the amnesia subplot, but understand why it's needed: to reveal Mrs. Bauer's secret.
LOVE the Palmer subplot. This thing is really heating up with his son. I just know Palmer has a plan and it's going to blow us away when he finishes everything.
LOVED the main story tonight, with the stabbing. Geez, I didn't see that coming at all, and my stomach was in knots through the whole thing.
Overall, this series still has it all. I still don't see how they'd ever get another season out of this series, though. They're doing EVERYTHING this season! Oh well, it's been a LONG time since there's been a show this good. Well, OK, this show and Alias.

Couldn't tell you why, but I really didn't care for this episode. That's a first for this show. I got the feeling they were running out of ideas of how to string this along some more.

the amnesia plot is LAAAAAMMMMMMMEEEE! what is this, a soap opera? also, with LA being such a massive place, the chances of the mother driving past that particular restaurant seemed really contrived. actually the whole car crash plotline is pretty lame. there should've been a better way to split them up without a car explosion and amnesia.

Good point:
Tanya helped Terri out because she thought there was money in it for her. Thank heavens she's not a good samaritan...well she did give Terri $10 for a taxi.
Bad point:
Tanya thought Terri comes from money....she looks like she does or her husband does. Excuse me? Terri looks like an escaped mental patient with a lobotomy haircut to match. (No offense to the actress )
Good point:
Kim actually suffered a facial injury from her near death car explosion.
Bad point:
The minor brusing conveniently is located under her bangs. Heaven forbid we distract too much from the eye candy.
Good point:
Kim calls CTU and when she can't reach Daddy or Nina, she hangs up on Tony. Smart move as you don't know if he can be trusted.
Bad point:
After Kim tells Tony what happened, all he can say is Jack's not there and Nina's not there. Hello Tony? Like you don't know where he is and can't phone him yourself?
Bad point:
Kim calles Rick for help? As I said in a previous thread I hate this whole Stockholm Syndrome storyline. I wish Kim had not survived the car explosion if this is all the character is good for. And she threatens "her love interest" that she'll tell the cops everything if he doesn't let her hang out at his place? Geez !! Way to get yourself killed sweetie.
Good point:
A possible relationship between Terri and the Doctor.
Bad point:
This whole amnesia storyline. And what's with her wrists being all cut up? She collapsed fairly gingerly on a dirt road. Why is "she" so injured when it should be her daughter? Oh I forgot....eye candy.
Good point:
The stabbing was a nice twist
Bad point:
I watched last week's spoiler and knew something like this was up. Duh!! Even TV Guide gave 24 a Jeer for spoiling episodes. When will I learn?
Good point:
Alexis's phone rings. What do we do?
Bad point:
Jack impersonates him and sets up a meeting. How come whenever this storyline is presented in shows, the person phoning never recognizes that the person answering isn't who they were trying to reach?
And undoubtedly the person phoning doesn't know what that person he's calling looks like either so Jack can impersonate him at the meet-up. Maybe 24 will surprise me on the latter.
Overall a decent episode for my favorite show (well co-favorite with Alias)
Oh and one last good point. Nina !!!

Now you understand why I don't watch the promos.

As for the episode, better than last week, but still predicated on absurdities. Too often they depend on characters acting in the most absurd way to move the story along. Yeah, the likely excuse is, "they've been through a lot" but too many times, characters are acting in the most irrational ways. Just about everything Terri has done from episode one has been overwhelmingly stupid, and Kim isn't too sharp either (must be genetics).
It's really difficult to stay engaged when you know that the most manipulative and absurd scenarios can happen at any moment just because the writers couldn't come up with anything.

Umm...this is more about extending a strange concept of 24 consecutive 1-hour shows with plenty of suspension of disbelief thrown into the writing.
I think Terri's "Dr" friend is probably someone she was hooking up with in her rocky marital period (it'll give Jack some leverage in diffusing her anger towards Nina). But as much as Jack's been through, Terri takes the cake: spent the night with the sentinel, kidnapped, treated like crap, raped, shot her rapist, on the run with her daughter, finds out she's pregnant, finds out who was shacking up with her then-separated husband, and almost kidnapped again under plenty of gunfire, rolls a car over, almost gets her daughter killed, turns into amnesiac, and can't even recognize a former "friend/lover".
Where in the world did that knife come from? Usually the viewer gets a little bit of foreshadowing with a throwaway shot of a knife, but I didn't notice it if there was such foreshadowing.
I do think that it was plausible that the senator's aide did go schizo based on her indignation and the gall and temerity of Drazen to play the "I have fallen in love with you" card, and in that instant, she wigged out because her self respect was at ground zero. Her rage at this guy took hold of her and all she wanted at that moment in time was revenge (Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned). Sure, it's cliched, but it does give Jack something to do next hour/episode.
I'm really beginning to hate the stupidity of Kim. For a good chess player, she stinks at sizing up situations. The Stockholm Hostage syndrome being played out is painful to watch at times because I wished I had a TV brick to throw at my TV when Kim does the stupidest things. And why Rick? That guy is no prize. Kim isn't even fazed that he's hiding out at his girlfriend's place. Plain flat out stupid little girl.
Mason and Jack are going to have it out once Jack finds out that Terri and Kim are missing. Can't wait to see what Palmer does with the tape.

Actually I didn't think last week's preview spoiled anything. Last week gave youthe impression that something would happen to the senator's aide, not to Drazen. So I was on pins and needles the whole time, expecting him to discover what she was doing and kill her. It was an unexpected twist, what she did.

Is anyone else getting the impression that Nina might be another dirty agent? She lied to Jack last night about why she left Kim and Teri at the safe house. It could have been her discomfort about her confrontation with Teri or it could have been that she wanted to get out of there before the place was hit...

Oooooh, I didn't think about that as being a reason. Good idea. I will be very surprised if Nina is dirty, though. She's been good all along (as far as we know)... if she turns out bad, they're going to have to explain it real well for me to buy it.

She's done a few things throughout the course of the show that make me wonder about her. Can't think of them now though...
When you think about it, she'd be the perfect dirty agent...Jack tells her everything.
