When Drazen first walks in the room he puts his Palm Pilot and phone on the desk, and there's a leather desk organizer with a letter opener in it. I assume that's the knife that was used.

I'm liking less and less of the show-- whole Drazen thing, whole Keith thing, whole amnesia thing (though I'm intrigued by the new Dr.). The politics at CTU is one of the best things about the show.

Now for some completely unsubstantiated wild guessing. What if Nina, despite all the evidence to the contrary, is a mole in deep cover? Her leaving the safe house early is meant to rouse suspicion (as are the opening titles), but then that could be a red herring. Anyway, and implausibly, what if Nina has some device that allows her to implant thoughts in people's psyches? Could explain why Jamey killed herself and murder attempt on Drazen. My suspicions of Nina all go back to the look on her face when Jack fake shot her-- was it shock that Jack almost did that, or shock that the baddies (her collaborators) apparently were willing to let her get killed?

Especially with a show as preview-spoiler-happy as this one, please put all the stuff that happens in previews in spoiler tags... thanks.

Well, I don't remember him saying that. But those previews are only quick flashes. At the time i saw it, I was definitley under the impression that SHE was the one in danger and that Jack was yelling in concern about her safety. I never would have guessed that the assassin was in any danger from her.

i have to agree with static on this one. i don't remember exactly what the teaser showed, but i know it left me with the distinct impression that she was going to stab the guy with something. the whole, "she's got something in her hand!" quote pretty much did it for me.

and what's with kim? does she not have any family to call in LA?

We've seen Kim's mental capacity. I'm surprised she even knows how to operate a phone.

Spoiler:
The guy on the phone doesn't even know Alexis. When they meet hes asks: " are you Alexis?"

But remember, on the show,
Spoiler:
Jack asked where to meet him. The guy said "Didn't I already tell you?" So obviously he must have talked to him before. And I don't think the reception was so bad that you couldn't tell the difference between Bauer and Drazen.

About Nina,
Spoiler:
there is strong evidence that she is definitely a mole in CTU. Remember how all the good guys use Mac computers at CTU? And Jamey, the traitor, used a PC. I think I remember seeing Nina using a Dell at one point... :)

I can't empathy for Kim, at all. Just a spoiled you know what.

Yep, she can't call another friend. Doesn't know her father's mobile phone number but has the office one - but not his direct one. Hello ... this is L.A. if she is going to know a phone number - Daddy's little whore will know the mobile number ...

AJW already mentioned the point that Tony spent two episodes transferring calls to Jack and now can't seem to figure out how to do it ... so lame.

Let's see what they do next week. I think Jack was asked if they had found any contacts for DumbDrayzen. I thought the answer was no. I also thought that we clearly saw him put a palmpilot on to the table. I'll be disappointed if that doesn't yield some info.

Also, what about the 'ol call the last number dialed on the guy's cell phone????? Yes, for the moment the phone call coming in is the issue but - that's a no brainer next week ... let's see what they do.

What you are saying here is tantamount to asking "What if this show is really The X-Files in disguise?"

Well, at least you said "implausibly". :)

"Implausibly" and "24" shouldn't go together. If aliens descended on the planet, and then Jamey awoke from a dream and said, "haha ... what a wild dream ..." I wouldn't be shocked at all.

It could have been her discomfort about her confrontation with Teri or it could have been that she wanted to get out of there before the place was hit...
I think this is right on, especially since Jack started to confront her about it in the hallway before the sting operation. However, with the way the show has been going, they might be setting us up for something totally unexpected.

Speaking of unexpected......I wonder about the senator's aide. She had no reason to Alexis....emotional rage only goes so far. Could she have killed him to make everyone feel that much safer while SHE continued with a plan of her own??

Isn't Kiefer's cell phone lying on the ground somewhere outside of St. Mark's Hospital, where Gaines told him to throw it out the window?

Huh. Never thought of that. It's already been established that she and the Palmer family go way back. Wonder if there is some bad blood between them?

Good point about the cell phone ... I messed up ...

As far as the aide goes .... wouldn't it make sense that she would want to just give her co-conspirator the head's up so he can get away rather than set him up and knife him? Even if she believes that her own actions may be in jeopardy ... I don't see how knifing him helps her out ...

Deja vu? I'd tell you to read the thread, but I guess you want to avoid spoilers. From a movielib post:

What is it with all the idiot women on this show? Except for Nina, I've yet to see _any_ of them act rationally:

Sherry "Hillary" Palmer - Will do anything to become First Lady, including lying to her husband, covering up one murder (Lyle Gibson), and tacitally arranging for another (Ferragamo). Not to protect her son, but to protect her White House aspirations. Her greed backfires, when Carl plants evidence at Ferragamo's murder implicating their son. So the "bad guys" can now blackmail Palmer if he becomes President. If not for Keith taping his convo with Carl, her greed would've really screwed Palmer. Gawd! I would've rather seen her offed than Ira Gaines. A good episode is any without this self-serving b*tch in it.

Teri - "Hey, we just ditched the killer by pulling off the road, I'll just get out and wander back to the road, completely unhidden, just to make sure he's gone." Oh, and I think I'll faint now. (And I'm expecting to learn that she's a "fidelity hypocrate" once her relationship with the Doctor is revealed. She got emotionally freaked-out because she learned that Jack had slept with Nina while they were on a break, but she was probably sleeping with the Doc before the break.)

Kim - "Hey, you kidnapped me, helped some dude run down my best friend Janet 12 hours ago, and then sold me out to foreign terror brokers, but I love you Rick." Using the "I'll rat you out to the cops" routine dosen't work with someone already involved in murder... it'll just get you offed that much quicker. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Elizabeth -
Spoiler:
Ruined everything by stabbing RickyMartinDrazen. I guess getting her own personal revenge for being used to get access to Palmer is more important than saving Palmer from the terrorists that used her to get access? Huh?
Stupid and selfish, and she's funky-looking too.

Jamey - Took her own life, leaving her child motherless, rather than give up Gaines. If she sold out to Gaines to get money to make her child's life better, how is killing herself helping make a better future for her kid? Shouldn't she be thinking about her child's welfare instead of her own selfishness when deciding to slit her wrists? We're better off without her around any more. I hope her kid does well in a foster home.

And let's not forget:

Mandy - Got $1 million for blowing up the plane, but decided to blackmail TERRORISTS for a second million?? Stupid, deserved to die, and got her gal-pal killed-off in the process too. I mean, there's a certain level on non-trust between these types anyway... if there's a risk that they might kill you after you give them the ID card, why make it worse by demanding more money? Dumb and dumber.

Nicole Palmer (the daughter raped by Gibson, who Keith is alleged to have killed). The only reason she's not done anything idiotic is because we've seen so little of her. She's been on screen for, what, maybe 10 minutes so far? Fox, please give her more screen time, let her screw-up too!

Network Spoilers

Oh yeah, one more things. I learned back when Babylon 5 was new.... you NEVER watch the teaser for next week's episode. You're gonna watch it anyway, what's the point in learning anything before-hand? Let the writer/director reveal the story to you the way THEY want to, not the way a network promo guy wants to!
