The American Embassy 3/25/02
I have to admit it, this show is growing on me. The lead character, Emma Broady is quite the gal. The device of using her letters/emails to her sister Jules does allow the viewer to get inside Emma's head. And there's a decent terrorist bombing plotline that runs through the show to add to the weekly problems that Emma has to deal with in her work.
Seems like there's a lot of history for many of these embassy workers if you watch the previews for the next show.

I still think it needs some work as it tugs on the emotions of the viewer in an obvious manner not unlike a second or third season David E. Kelley show, but it has promise. Emma is a great character, and the supporting cast is pretty strong. I'll keep watching.

Does anyone know when this show will air after Ally McBeal returns?
I'd hate to get jhooked on it if it conflicts with other things I'm watching (Sundays & Tuesdays I already have my two ReplayTVs on full alert).

I caught it, too. Not too shabby... but man, the lead character even LOOKS like Ally McBeal. And I can't believe she walked into that hive of scum and villainy all by herself, and everything turned out okay. Maybe they figured that if they did anything, the State Department would destroy them.

Some of the shots definitely have to have been filmed in London. However, they could do what ER does - film all the interior shots in a studio in California, and cut it with footage shot on location.

Like all the fake snow on Ally McBeal.
