Six Feet Under - 3/17/02

The show took several different turns this episode. Especially with Claire. It will also be interesting to see what happens with David and Keith's relationship. Looks like they are being kept close through indirect problems with each of their sibling's.

personally i thought this episode was very weak compared to the rest of the series. very disappointing. the writing sucked, the characters seemed out of character, and even the acting was bad for some reason. WEIRD!

Strangely (and unfortunately), I agree with you.

Then again, a bad episode of this show is still pretty damned good.

When will we see Nate finally get smart and ditch the bitch that is Brenda? She's getting loopy like her brother.

Yeah it wasn't the best ep, but it had it moments. Ruth's outburst at the seminar was the highlight for me.

Same here... and although I thought it was the weakest of the 3 Season 2 episodes so far, I still found a lot to love.

It just seems like they're going a little too far with a few things though (namely Gabe's story).

Spoiler:
Anyone else think that when the psychic was talking about a child coming into either Nate's or Dave's life, she meant Keith's neice?

I'll keep this all in spoilers for those that haven't seen the episode, but those that have feel free to reply to what I say down below

Spoiler:
The best part of tonight's episode was when the psychic came in looking at caskets. David and Nate were thinking she was so weird in talking to her dead husband...when in fact they talk to their dead dad all the time. They even denied it when she asked them whether they ever talk to dead people. I think it was also funny that David says he doesn't see dad at all to Nate, even though he does.

There was a LOT of subtle humor in tonight's episode. I have a feeling that Brenda is pregnant and she doesn't know how to handle it. The thing with Grant Show is just showing that she can easily go back to her old ways. Remember in the first episode where she talked about how she had sex all the time in airports? Now you wonder whether she was telling the truth or just joking.

Yes - and this unfortunately is spoiled in the previews for next week's episode for anyone who tuned in for it.

Ditching Brenda ain't gonna happen, dude. And why? She's the best character and had the best storylines last season with the whacko brother (who we can expect to return). That comment is like the one in a previous thread where someone said that they never should have killed the father in the 1st episode - I'm like thinking there'd be no SHOW if that didn't happen. The Brenda/Nate this happens right after that in the pilot so I doubt you'll ever see her disappear (esp not after winning a Golden Globe for the role).

Spoiler:
I think Nate's feeling of mortality are great and clogging up the openness both enjoyed in the first six months of the relationship. It will be interesting to finally see some of Nate's backstory next week when he takes Claire with him back to Seattle. I've always wondered about his apartment and stuff that he never went back to get after coming home for the father's funeral!

Overall a funnier episode - but I thought the opening death in this one had very little to do with the episode's plot as others have in the past.

I know they will never ditch Brenda on the show, but a guy can dream, can't he?

I just think she brings too much conflict to the relationship w/ Nate. I guess I just see alot of similarities to my previous relationship w/ an ex in there and it bugs me.

At first I didn't think that. But it does make perfect sense.

Nate has some bad taste in chicks. Betwwen Brenda and the ex-girlfriend appearing in the next episode, I'm not sure who's worse.

I thought maybe it was me...I had a fever last night but still watched the show and thought it was really weird and not a great effort. Guess I'm not alone in that assessment.

The whole subplot with mom going through The Plan is getting extremley annoying. Up until last night I've NEVER contemplated turning the channel at any time during ANY episode of this show, but I came damn close last night when they'd switch to the seminar scenes.

I think maybe that's what threw me off with this episode. And I never really got back into the groove of the episode so I didn't enjoy it at all.

I have to say this is definitely the best show on TV right now, IMO.
I thought the scene with the other funeral directors at the diner was hilarious when BOBO was cussing up a storm and apologizing to David the looks on his face had me .
Unfortunately, the first show I saw was Ep. 8. during the recast. At first I thought it was some movie. I missed a couple Ep's after that but try real hard to catch the show now. I LOVE IT! Really hope it gets boxed soon so I can catch all I missed.
