Simpsons WTC episode on Fox today in my area.
When i realized what episode it was i was a little shocked! I remembered reading that this episode was banned... It's such a great episode, and i was glad to see it back. I think it was stupid to talk about shelfing it anyway.
Has anyone else spotted this episode?
"Mt dew or crab juice"
"yuck, blah, uuuuughg blah..... Crab juice please."

Didn't see it today. The episodes I saw today were:
5:00 pm Eastern :
Shelbyville steals Springfields famous lemon tree and Bart and his classmates go over the "border" to reclaim it.
6:00 pm Eastern :
Jay Sherman (The Critic, Jon Lovitz) is called upon by Marge to be a judge at the Springfield festival.
Ironically, the critic episode has a quick shot of the Twin Towers.
I do agree with the you on the "banned" episode. I do enjoy it for comedic purposes.

"Drunk on the lack of alcohol in
his system, Barney takes the Simpsonmobile on a ride to New York City
during his reign as the designated driver at Moe's bar. In order to
retrieve it, Homer must return to New York City, where a dark past that
he'd rather forget lurks"
Basiclly, Barney gets to be the Designated driver... on the night that Duff man comes to the bar with a bottomless mug of NEW DUFF, everyone else has a blast and barney is sober driving them back in Homers car. he goes nuts and takes off after dumping the drunks off.... fast forward a few months, barney's missing, and homer is trying to make a new car out of the bed matress. barney eventually shows up, without car. the simpsons soon get parking tickets from the City of new york for the car being parked in between the World trade center. Homer's dark history with NYC (being chased by a [fake]Pimp) and so forth. so it has a lot to do with the WTC and fox said some time back, that they were not going to show it in there syndication since the tragedy.

Homer's car winds up in between the towers of the WTC. Homer goes to retrieve it, but has to wait for the parking guy. He ends up drinking too much crab juice and has to go to the bathroom...there is none in the lobby, so he rides the elevator all the way up to the top...it's closed, so he has to ride all the way back down, go to the other tower, and ride up to the bathroom there.

There are a couple of things in the episode which seemed strange now... A couple of things made me feel a little uncomfortable, but i didn't view them as inappropriate, just part of what the towers meant to everyone pre-9/11.
"Don't mind him, all those tower 1 guys are jerks"
*sign* "This tower out of order, please use other tower"

I did not see this episode recently, and could really see being somewhat uncomfortable with certain dialoge now.
Those towers did mean so much.
Where I live you can't drive 10 mins. in any direction without seeing a view of where they once stood.
So sad,
But I drift off topic...........
