this was a pretty good episode (well, that's not saying too much since they all are pretty good episodes).

I was on the floor laughing at the soccer game at the end, with dewey rubbing the other players face in the chalk

The Sims parody was hilarious.

"Kill the other family members, NO! Don't make a sandwich! No! Don't kill yourself!"

Was I the only one who thought the Sims parody was kinda unfunny? It just seemed to be a cheap way to give Malcolm something to do. I would have preferred if they just left him completely out of the show - "Bye Mom, I'm going to Stevie's!"

Reese's subplot with Ed = Great
Dewey & Hal = Great
Francis & Piama = Ehhh, alright I guess.
The stuff with Francis & Lavernia was great, as usual.

I would have liked to have seen more of the soccer sub-plot and I'm betting more insight into the Lavernia/Piama confrontation would have made this a MUCH better episode, IMHO.

I thought it was funny because it is true...

People get addicted to The Sims and can't quit the game. You get sucked into it. Then the crazy stuff that was happening where he kept trying to get his family to be horrible and himself good. It was my favorite subplot next to Reese and the neighbor.

RE: Malcolm playing "The Sims"

I'll concede the point that Sims players would find the sub-plot entertaining... and therefore should probably have been left in. But from the point of view of my wife and I, both big time MitM fans but not The Sims players, we found the sub-plot really lacking. It was like the show was dragging every time they cut to Malcolm and Stevie.

The part when Malcom was a 500 pound sim, I thought was the funniest part in the show.
