NBA on NBC is a joke

So NBC cancels 2 Wash.Wizards telecasts because Michael Jordan is injuryed.I guess the rest of the TEAM doesn't matter. What would happen if Jordan was injuryed and The Wizards were playing for the championship, would they replace there programming with one of there lame brain situation comedies?

Considering that Wizards games weren't on the original schedule, I'm glad they're removing them. The only reason they've been showing them is because of MJ and the ratings he brings.

As a Spurs fan, I've seen at least 3 games replaced by Wizards games. One of those was against Miami. Now there's a marquee matchup.

NBC Sports is a joke to being with, so it's no shocker that their NBA coverage sucks ass.

Be happy, didn't someone else gain the rights to air the games now for next season? ABC? I'm not up on my basketball, I'm really only a hockey watcher.

No more John Tesh intro music.

I remember when the NBA was on ABC back in the sixties and every Sunday they would have the Boston Celtics game of the week.

I guess the rest of the TEAM doesn't matter.

That's right, the rest of the team doesn't matter. That's why they haven't been on network TV in years. Nobody would have watched a Wizards game without Jordan. Good business decision.

Professional basketball sucks anyway. The games are usually so boring. College basketball and March Madness are a million times better.

While I agree that the NBA on NBC sucks, this decision was 100% the right decision to make.

Simply drop the "on NBC" part of your title and I agree.

I actually enjoy the WNBA more than the NBA these days.

As for NBC, it just sickens me the way that Ahmad Rashad has bascially made his carreer by riding MJ's jock all these years. I was really put over when he became Kobe's bitch after MJ retired. It must be hard to be Rashard these days with MJ back in the league.

NBC losing the NBA contract is the best thing that could have ever happened.

Hockey & college hoops fans will probably disagree. ESPN is probably going to cover a lot fewer nhl and NCAA basketball games next season.

Can somebody clue me into why the NBA has any popularity at all? And are there any NBA players with a shred of class? They're all punks, every last one of them.

I'm a bit biased being a Spurs fan, but I'd have to say David Robinson has a lot of class. As a role model, he's much better than most of the other players in the NBA. Highly intelligent, Naval officer, community supporter, etc.

NBA wasn't even planning any Wizards games (and why would they) this year until Jordan decided he was bored (i.e. wanted to play again cuz his investment needed a boost)...

It's not NBC, it's just that NBA is not interesting until the finals (and then it's iffy)...

I agree. That is the worst part of this. ESPN does a great job with college hoops (far superior to Fox Sports Net) and they will certainly cover less college games now.

What's worse is they cut 2 Raptors games to pickup the Wizards.

I don't wanna see MJ do layups and fadeaways all afternoon. Gimme Vince with a messed up leg any day.

I know, and I've seen them, loved them, cherished them.

It's just that this was another opportunity to bash Walton, and I guess I was amazed that nobody had capitalized on it yet.

OK, here I go.

Bill Walton is the worst broadcaster on television.

In other news, man has landed on the moon!
