that crazy mullet head was the bomb. nothing was better than watching him opening up packs of cards and lying non-stop. shop at home just isnt the same without him.

Be diallllllling people!!!
McGwire Rookie Cards!!!
Only 3 billion, ah, I mean 3 thousand made!!

This guy was hysterical.

Didn't he also sell the big knife collections?!?

I think I saw him cut himself once. Blood is streaming down his finger and he kept going, yelling about how great a deal it was.

He was the "Crocodile Hunter" of late night TV shopping.

Wow I'm in shock seeing this thread. I used to watch him and his sidekick Eddie Lewis all the time; even though I didn't collect sports memorabilia or knives. I just found him very entertaining in the way he hawked the merchandise and his gravily voice was spellbinding.

For laughs, I once sent him a H&S catalog that had the 500 Home Run Club Baseball selling for $1,200 just so he could use it on air to show how cheap his $549 price was. And boy did he ever use it on air big-time. The poor catalog was falling apart after three weeks of non-stop use on his show.

He even thanked me on the air for sending it to him and I have it saved on tape. The highlight of my otherwise quite boring life

If only I had a nickel for every time he used the word "Gang" I'd be a rich man by now.

By the way, Shop At Home Host Robert Chambers gets on my nerves big time.

Edited to add this really poor quality real video clip of my claim to fame. (1.1 MB)

Does anyone remember ever seeing a TV shop at home show called "China Bob"?

I'm going back probably mid 80's here.

The China Bob guy had one arm and had this host of sidekicks to help him hawk his wares which included (and I swear I'm not making this up) Stun Guns!

They would even do this cheezy dramatization of a girl walking alone in an alley at night when she was suddenly attacked.
She would then produce her stun gun to ward off the attacker.

They also sold stuff like off brand stereo equip. etc. that you couldn't ever imagine wanting to buy.
