Angel -2/18/02
I hate to say it, but I think Angel has just nudged past Buffy in sheer entertainment value with this latest episode. It's got all the stuff we used to watch Buffy for (love, pathos, comedy, action). The presence of Groo is totally making Angel's life a total hell.

For a filler episode, Angel was pretty darn entertaining, and the chilling ending sent shockwaves down my spine.
.
The comedic timing of all the characters was on tonight. "Angel, you're unique, like each one of these volumes" "We have three of them". Bwah-hahaha!
I totally LOL when Groo was all neat and trim, wearing Angel's clothes, and then Angel's expression/reaction was priceless.
Angel did an incredibly generous thing with Cordy, took Groo to a demon brothel to get some prophylactic potion so she wouldn't lose her vision while making mad monkey love to Groo, and tried to give Groo the credit for the taking down the tree/root creature with the DSL connection, and gave Cordy a few weeks off, some dough to allow her to get to know Groo in the sunlight.
Fred and Gunn are in that early phase of love, and Wesley is left to sulk/brood. Even Angel has Connor. Poor ol' Wesley. I guess it'll be Wesley and Lorne.

I thought it was incredibly caring that Angel went out of his way to get that potion. Cordy was merely horny, yet Angel took great pains to himself to get her a potion to cure her affliction. In several years of Buffy and Angel, hardly anybody's ever mentioned finding a cure for Angel's curse so he could be with his true love.

Pretty good episode. I was
a couple of times.
All the humor made the ending that much more powerful. I guess Cordelia will be out a couple of episodes? Thats ok, we really don't need two love triangles at the same time anyway.
Two hours of Buffy tomorrow - hope it matches up.

Did the DSL Tree dude missed Angel's heart? I ask this because wouldn't the DSL Tree dude's "tentacle" be made of wood?
I think Buffy will be 2 reruns tonight.

Angel: "This thing’s not actually made out of wood, is it?"
Fred: "No, it’s flesh."
Angel: “Good. Flesh I can deal with. Flesh I can kill.”

Yep once agian, Angel is doin' fine, slow but steady, logical, and with some humor and great twists.
I dont mean to harp on the whole Buffy Vs. Angel thing, but when I watched last nights episode, so much made sense- how every character behaved and grew. So, it just makes me think of the cumbersome "drug addiction, who am I?, dont leave me alone whiny brattiness" of Buffy's characters and how badly their character arcs are playing out.
Wheras on Angel I'm pleasantly pleased- my heart goes out to poor lonely Wesley- Fred and Gunn paring up has a great twist- Cordelia continues to amaze with her character growth while still remaining true to herself- Angel secretly in love is great and the only thing that irks me is his goofiness, but it looks like thats about to change according to next weeks preview.

This was such a great ep! I feel so bad for poor Wes. And Angel, to some extent.
And when Groo came out looking like Angel, OMJ! I don't think I've laughed at this show so hard since She with the wacky dancing!

What are your thoughts on the translated Greek text that read
? What do you think it means for Angel and Conor?
Personally, here's what I'm guessing:
Any other ideas?

Some possibilities
I'm not putting spoilers because this is just all speculation, and anyone who saw this episode will have all the information I'm basing this on. Tell me if you think I should spoilerize this, though.
Obviously, I don't think that it will as obvious as Angel just outright killing Connor. There are several possibilities which spring to mind:
1. Holtz kills Connor. One wonders if Holtz would just act with such directness, but it is possible. Remember, it didn't say that the father will kill HIS son, just THE son. And Holtz is a (former) father...
2. Angel doesn't directly kill Connor, but he sets off a chain of events that results in Connor's death. You know how vague those wacky prophecies are.
3. Speaking of vague prophecies are, I can just see them cop out like they have done with every prophecy. Watch Wesley find out that in ancient Greek, the word that means "to kill" also means conveniently "to baptize" or something.
4. And finally, the one I'm hoping for - Connor turns out to be EVIL! He 's gonna have to be put down...

Speaking of Holtz, where the heck has he been hiding lately?

I have to agree with the people who say this season of Angel has been much better than Buffy. I am bored with Buffy this season all all the soapy crap going on there. Angel has been entertaining and as someone else said, everything Buffy used to be.
