That is what I was saying in the Adult forum. Topanga owns Winnie if you're comparing them when they are in their show. This is how I remember them, not like the latest airbrushed crazy photos of Danica.

When I was watching WS, I never understand what Kevin sees in Winnie. That blonde girl that was into Kevin is so much hotter.

No way. The mixed ethnicity and long brunette hair ruled. Danica then. Danica now. :)

I was in the same age range as Savage & McKeller so it is easier to relate to. Plus as mentioned above, BMW had this sugar Disney coating on it made it feel like a saturday morning program.

Wonder Years and Topanga. I personally never found Winnie all that attractive, BUT...I think her "plainness" made the show feel a little more down-to-earth.

What does Topanga look like nowadays?

boredsilly 11-09-05 09:02 AM

I watched Wonder Years in syndication and it was a great show (all time), but I have to go with BMW. I grew up with those kids as I was only a grade or two ahead of the shows time frame, so it was easy to identify and get into the shows stories. To be a Disney show the relationships were pretty dynamic in the latter years and the Corey/Shawn/Topanga relationship was really well done I thought.

As for girls, Topanga all day long. That girl had body. She isn't terribly photogenic and looks better in motion, so the pictures in this thread don't do her justice. Winnie was and is a toothpick.

When I think of Winnie Cooper, I think of Mini Cooper? :whofart:

Boy Meets world is one of my all time favorite shows. I was ten when Boy Meets World premiered and I was five when the Wonder Years debuted so I guess you can say I grew up watching both and I have very fond memories of both. I wish the Wonder Years is on in syndication or on dvd so I can evaluate it like I can Boy Meets World now, but I have to say The Wonder Years is a far better than Boy Meets World. Later on during the run of Boy Meets World everything becomes really dumb. Also, I pick Topanga over Winnie.

Of course, WONDER YEARS! Are you crazy?

It's like comparing caviar to a pile of feces.

Absolutely! I don't know how long I put up with watching The Single Guy, just because of Olivia. Much better than the hippie get up she had to wear on The Wonder Years.

Boy Meets World doesn't compare to The Wonder Years. It was a kids show. I was in high school for most of The Wonder Years and the whole family watched it together.

GuessWho 11-09-05 12:54 PM

I even thought "Becky" was cuter than "Winnie"

I liked the hippie get up.. you just knew she was all about free love. :hump:

And Julie was the reason I watched Eerie, Indiana.

Where does Maitland Ward rank?

I always thought she was really cute on Boy Meets World, although I could never stomach watching the show for more than a minute or two at a time.

Julie Condra aka Madeline was my fantasy girl !

soooo hot !

A-frickin'-men. Topanga was cute in the beginning, but she just got less and less cute as time went on. In more decent pictures she looks like you combined DNA from Kristen Johnson and Kathy Ireland, then afflicted her with dwarfism.

That is what I am seeing as well. I wonder what is wrong with everyone else's eyes.

Wonder Years. No contest.

Definitely The Wonder Years.

Superman07 04-02-07 11:56 AM

I was never a huge fan of the wonder years. Think I was too young when the show was on to pay attention to that sort of "grown up" programe. I may like it today, but I think I'd be pissed off at the ending (just like with Dawson's and Felicity). However, I did grow up watching BMW on and off (was the last bastion of true TGIF). However, it unfortuantely got very goofy during the last season or so. I really feel Eric's character was really wasted as they played up his stupidity at the end (reminder: start thread comparing Eric and Ross from Friends).

Anybody know how the planned next season of TWY was supposed to go? Never knew it too received the axe treatment.

PacMan2006 04-02-07 12:06 PM

TWY is starting again on TV for those that want to watch it. Can't recall the station, but I believe it's a PAX sister channel. First ep is today. Channel 255 is you have DirecTV.

Ayre 04-02-07 12:17 PM

Neither are that special:

Here are two BAD photos:

Ouch Winnie what happened to you. But hey ... Nice rack

Topanga looks more like Peppa. But hey ... Nice rack

dadaluholla 04-02-07 12:24 PM

I enjoyed both shows, but I would much rather watch Boy Meets World.

DthRdrX 04-02-07 12:32 PM

TWY were more of a serious dramatic series while BMW fit more into Comedy. TWY was far superior regardless of what anyone thinks of the two minute voiceover during the finale.

What really makes BMW unwatchable for me is when Cory went to college and his brother became "cartoon" stupid. It was a great show up to that point.

Michael Corvin 04-02-07 12:58 PM

What's even more sad about this whole debate is that BMW lasted longer than TWY.
