Enterprise continuity
time to discuss Enterprise continuity, both where it keeps continuity and where it fails
Dr. Phlox's rubber gloves: in "A Matter of Time" Dr. Crusher mentions no quarantine fields in the 22nd century and that they used gloves no phasers: Worf mentions no phasers in the same episode, the original TOS pilot also lacked phasers now the phase pistols are kind of a problem. although they aren't quite phasers, they seem more advanced than the laser pistols of the original pilot Romulans: we can see them, the Enterprise crew can't. So far it hasn't been brought up, but it undoubtedly will Klingons: 1st contact was supposed to lead to a horrible war. So far it's kind of an uneasy coexistance. The klingons aren't invading but they aren't buddies either 4 days to Kronos at less than warp 5. Unrealistic. The klingons would have made us their bitches by now the Federation isn't established until 2161, so unless they a) go 10 seasons, or b) have a season of tv cover more than 1 year of fictional time we can't see the founding of it |
They might be hedging their bets, in that even if the show doesn't run 10 years, they could use whatever is set up in the show's 5+ seasons to shoot a pretty cool feature film or TV miniseries or something...whereas if they set it 5 years from the founding of the Federation, all of a sudden in season 5 or 6 all kinds of issues start to arise...

I was reading and the war with the Romulans starts in 2156 (their 6th season). it leads to the creation of the neutral zone.

I'm still waiting for the day the Klingons have a collective species day of plastic surgery to look like the Klingons in the original series. I really, really, really want to know why Worf refused to talk about the change. What prompted such a proud warrior race to resemble weak and puny humans?

You also have to remember the time travel element. Remember, Enterprise wouldn't have launched when it did if it weren't from intervention from the future.
Enterprise would have been blown up in the "Cold Front" episode if it weren't for intervention from the future. For all we know, none of the events of Enterprise happened in the reality of TOS, TNG, DS9, and VOY. Yeah, yeah, it messes with the mind. Just remember that continuity could be blown out the door and all of it could be attributed to the temporal cold war. |
for all we know those events happened in the TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY's pasts too

Maybe B&B will just have Archer time travel in the last episode to "un-do" everything that was done in the show.

what's Patrick Duffy been up to lately? Originally posted by Numanoid I think that on the last episode, Bobby Ewing will come out of the shower and prove that it was all Bob Newhart's dream. :hscratch: |
