ROSEANNE!!!
I deem this poll invalid without a listing for Roseanne.
Best. Sitcom. Ever.
"Becky - did you ever know that you're my hero?"
"Sure Darlene - and you're the wind beneath my wings . . ."

DVD Talk Legend
Defintely Seinfeld and The Simpson would be at the top. But I did enjoy the short lived John Laraquette show. I'll always remember the one where John and Daryl "Chill" Mitchell are riding in a car listening to "Kill Whitey"

Just because "The Simpsons" is a half-hour long doesn't automatically brand it a "sitcom." I always see sitcoms as the "one-act" plays of television. All the characters are confined to one set for the bulk of the show.
"The Simpsons" transcends the sitcom because it isn't about a set group of characters in a single room cracking wise to each other. Sure Bart's always been 10 years old - but the scope of the whole show goes beyond Bart's misadventures in the fourth grade.
I dunno. I'm just rambling here. The curry from lunch is still settling.

"In Living Color" was a variety show, not a sitcom.
I'm surprised they don't rerelease them on DVD as "In Living Color...starring JIM CARREY and JENNIFER LOPEZ!"
