He-Man & the Masters of the Universe
Does anyone have any further information on a new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon that is supposed to be coming out this summer? So far the only news I've found is this:
1) It is supposed to coincide with a July/August release of a new Masters of the Universe toyline
2) Lou Scheimer Productions, who did the old cartoon from the 80s, has nothing to do with it at the moment
3) Several cartoon storyboards and a full-color background were unveiled at Toy Fair 2002, and appear to be in the same vein as the typical Fox Batman/JLA/X-men style: http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/324354p1.html
Does anyone else have any other information?

I would check out http://www.he-man.org/ (one of its runners is also a member on this board, ctyner). They usually have the info, if not on the mainpage, check out the forum.
I am glad Lou Schiemer Productions are not doing the cartoon. I just do not think they are "with-it" currently to get the cartoon to appeal to market today. I saw some of their feature "Robin and the Dreamweavers" and ehh looks like 70s/80s Filmation still to me.
I also saw the storyboards.......... that Snake Mountain kicks major ass.
I wish we would get more information though. I also heard that John Erwin (voice of He-Man) and Alan Oppenheimer (voice of Skeletor) did the voices for the voice chips in the deluxe figures Mattel is going to release that come also with a video tape of original He-Man episodes. What I would like to know is if they are going to do the voices in the new cartoon. Or even what network it is going to be on. Oh well, only time will tell I guess.

Oh, believe me: I do visit He-Man.org (in fact, that's where I get ALL my He-Man news!)
I was just wondering if anyone 'in the know' has any additional information.

I just wish Mattel would release more information. Their press release said the new figures will be out in July (Castle Grayskull in AUgust) so I assume at least the 1 hour movie thing should be out to promote the figures.

No, seriously, I would like to see Thundercats more than Transformers and GI Joe. Although, I really didn't like any of them when I was a kid. I was the true Masters of the Universe fan.

I just find it hard to believe that Mattel hasn't been promoting the upcoming 'toon. There's only 6 months til we see it.
All I ask for is an official website with 1 or 2 screencaps. That's all I ask!
