hollywood does not want me to watch tv

well atleast according to the info yall are providing me. these are the shows i regularly watch (have a season pass for):

Futurama - rumored to be ending
King of the Hill - filler show, but it grew on me. looks okay for next season
Simpsons - gotta end sometime (hoping it doesnt).
Malcolm in the Middle - a good show fox actually promotes
boston public - also surviving
70's show - surviving, but who know how much crap fox will try to wring out of it (80s crap)
undeclared - yall say its gonna be gone
24 - one season deal
friends - last season next year
family guy - canned

so we have left after 2 years:

king of the hill
simpsons (hopefully)
malcolm in the middle
boston public
'70s show

3 hours of tv a week. i guess we're lucky we have syndication. also hoping other shows will come along.

Venusian, I posted almost the exact same list this morning in the futurama thread, which is what i think you may be basing some of your post on... And i agree with you... If it weren't for the simpsons, ER, smallville, and survivor i'd never turn on the TV. I feel like the networks aren't really trying...

Fox is, well, i dont' feel like repeating myself. Lets jsut say Fox is Fox. Nuff said.

ABC... do they even have shows anymore? I can't remember the last time i turned ABC on.

NBC.. Well, ER will be gone after NEXT year more than likely, freinds will be too. I hate will&grace, ... Okay, i guess i'll turn on the West Wing, but that'll only serve as a filler for ER when it leaves me.

CBS.... Ugh, does everybody in my generation get the same taste in their mouth as i do when they say CBS..? Survivor is the only thing redeeming they've had in .... well, forever.

Wait, who said "24" is a one season deal? I read a two weeks ago that they are most likely bringing the show back next season, but with changes.

Has this information changed as of late?

They've discussed ways to bring it back if they do, but they never said they actually were bringing it back. The ratings are below average, and they've lost a lot of money on the show. If it weren't for simple embarassment, they would have cancelled it mid-season.

I'd like to think that the Golden Globe award and more recent success for the show will be enough to bring it back, but that decision won't be made for a while.

i think it was originally pitched as a one season thing, but that might change if the show is successful. It'd be hard to bring it back and make it as good i would think

Pretty sure that Groening and Fox have both said that the 15th season will be the last. I think they're in the 13th season right now...

Yeah we have a couple years of the simpsons left to enjoy.

24 costs alot fo produce, and its like #60 in the ratings. I highly doubt it will come back for a second season based on those numbers.
